Op zoek naar een lunchplek in Maastricht kwamen we in Valkenburg terecht. De vriendelijke dame vertelde over het buffet waarbij je een vega(n) gerecht a la carte erbij kon kiezen vanwege de beperkte keus. Het bleek allemaal meer dan genoeg, erg lekker, betaalbaar en met prima service!

Had a delicious meal here. The waiter was very kind and attentive, and had good knowledge of all the vegan options. He recommended me that if I wanted a vegan meal, I could better order a la carte than pay for the buffet; less vegan options since the buffet is not 100% vegan, but they’re experimenting with a vegan buffet day once a month. I had the tortilla chip dish with veggies, vegan cheese and vegan sour cream. I couldn’t stop eating. Check out their website for the vegan buffet days and other changes in the menu (November/December months they have a different Holiday menu). I saw someone comment about the animals they have: yes they have parrots and leguans, but from what I saw they take really good care of them, love them and the animals look healthy and happy.

Once a month this restaurant does an all vegan buffet, one of the owners is vegan and a chef so you can be sure everything is 100% vegan and 100% yummie! We had so many different mexican inspired vegan foods and desserts...I felt like a kid in a candystore. Well seasoned, diverse dishes, big salad bar with different styles of cheeses as well. A lovely setting with really nice food.

The portions are large and reasonably priced.
They also do a buffet and a number of the dishes are standard vegan and clearly labelled.. Sour cream, guacamole and garlic bread will be veganised for you and brought separately. One great thing is that they have organised a couple of entirely vegan buffet nights.
There are animals in the restaurant (parrots and iguanas) which all seemed to be well-cared for and were not being hassled by the many kids and families present.

Friendly staff, delicious vegan food (the buffets were amazing). They even used paper straws. The chef told me they strive to minimuze their waste . My compliments. When i asked the chef for the story behind their feathered pets, she told me the detailed history.

Huge, colourfully decorated restaurant with several vegan options! The food was great and the service friendly! The only thing I didn't like was that they have iguanas in a terrarium and also parrots.

Nice colourful place with good food and several vegan options, big portions and nice staff. They have some pet parrots which I find a bit sad, but they look healthy and are a good companion for kids.

We ran into this place recently and were very happily surprised with the list of vegan option this cute restaurant offers. They have a very clear place on the menu for vegans and explain what ingredients they use. You can order all the vegetarian options on the menu if you tell them you want it vegan they will use the vegan substitute. Friendly staff, very big restaurant in vibrant and colourful place. It is Possible to arrange big group dinners. They also have a buffet, this is very vegetarian friendly but less interesting for vegans (as they informed us) but they are very willing to make you some vegan food. We were there in the time of the lunch but they were willing to make us some great food from the dinner menu! The owner started eating vegan recently and instantly gave the menu a vegan-proof update! Hooray! Think of vegan Wilmersburger cheese on your nacho's etc. The place is big, but with all the different corners and area's it is still possible to choose a more hidden private place. I wanted to give five stars, but it at Happy Cow it is only possble to give fully vegetarien / vegan restaurants 5 stars. I really appreciate this initiative since it is one of the few places in the area that has vegan options on the menu and the staff is fully aware of what the concept 'vegan food' means. This restaurant is very vegan friendly.
