Hier gaan zitten voor een borrelhapje, kregen naast de gewone kaart ook een volledig vegan lunch/borrel kaart zonder specifiek te vragen. Nacho’s en knoflookbrood besteld met lekkere biertjes erbij. Zou hier zeker eens terugkomen om diner te proberen!

Aparte vegan kaart met 5 vegan hoofdgerechten en 4 vegan desserts. Wij hadden de Vegan Spareribs. Was erg lekker, ruime portie. Mijn vriend die niet vegan is vond het ook lekker. Als dessert vegan churro's met chocosaus en slagroom.
Read moreIets minder is dat het soms lang kan duren voordat je bediening ziet. Eenmaal besteld staat het wel snel op tafel. Ook een minpunt is dat het personeel niks doet aan overlast. Er zat vlakbij een familie met wat kids en die waren behoorlijk aan het krijsen en gillen. Het restaurant zou ze daar op aan moeten spreken. Dit verwacht je niet om 20 uur.

Mexican-style restaurant with over-the-top 70s-looking decor... we loved that! They have a buffet going on... skip that if you're vegan, but they have an entire vegan section on their menu. We had the big mazatlan (yep! it's BIG!) and the seitan/jackfruit bbq "ribs", both delicious and very filling. Try the desserts, too. They have delicious churros with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, and can even make you an Irish coffee. We've heard they do a fully vegan evening once a month, as well. Best choice in Valkenburg.

Lots of vegan options: seitan spare ribs, vegan enchiladas, vegan burrito and more. I had the vegan cactus soup (wasn't really a soup, it was water with cactus in it). And I had the vegan burrito, which was nice with fruit and rice. But it was very greasy because of the vegan cheese. Next time I would order without cheese. They also had many vegan options for dessert. Most of all restaurants in the whole neighborhood.

Bij dit restaurant heb je meerdere Vegan opties om uit te kiezen. Vegan eten is namelijk lastig te vinden in deze omgeving. Vooral het gerecht “de seitan steak” is bijzonder en het proeven meer dan waard. De bediening is aardig en enthousiast over de Vegan gerechten. Een keer per maand is er zelfs een Vegan buffet.

The food was OK but unfortunately not more than that. My kids got veganized kid's portions, which was nice. The interior is a bit tacky to my taste and I'm not sure about the happiness of the parrots that live there.

The vegan food here is out of this world! Love this restaurant so much, the decor, the staff, the food, everything is great. They even have some rescued animals at the restaurant. We went here on a “normal” night but definitely looking forward to coming back for a vegan buffet at some point!

Zodra je el Castillo instapt heb je meteen het gevoel dat je in het zonnige Mexico bent. Met mooie inrichting, leuke muziek en 3 papegaaien. De kaart wad uitgebreid en had een aparte pagina voor Vegan gerechten, hierdoor was het overzichtelijk en geen gedoe met onduidelijke symbolen. Ik had de vegan spareribs en jeetje wat waren deze lekker!! Het eten was heerlijk gekruid en de proties waren (iets te) groot. Als toetje hebben we vegan churrios gedeeld en ook deze waren heerlijk. Kom hier zeker nog eens terug!
