Vegan opties OK - Edit

Disappointing serving and portions - Edit
El Bigote is a mexican restaurant in Lierganes, a beautiful village in Cantabria. They have a wide selection of typical mexican dishes on the menu. We arrived to the place on a rainy day during our travel with my partner. It was the only open place offering vegetarian options in town. We ordered burritos and quesadillas. The burritos contained only fried vegetables, no rice or beans, and they were served like tacos, in a small sized, open tortilla. The quesadillas were quite small too. For their price, we were quite surprised, and frankly, the food was far from great. The staff was very nice and the place had good vibes. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it as a place to be listed on HappyCow though.

Cons: disappointing vegetarian food, pricy for the quality

Friendly place - Edit
If you want to eat a vegetarian or vegan menu here, phone in advance to book it.
Read moreWe were welcomed very friendly. The place is colorful and it had lots of people having lunch, a good sign. The vegan menu was good, not the best Mexican food I ever had. But there is not much around for vegans in Liérganes so we were happy with this option. The staff is helpful and explains what is served.
I would recommend to skip the dessert with the vegan menu. There were two options: a fruit salad and mango. Both consisted of canned fruit. I hate canned fruit. The mango was acceptable, but I think my boyfriend was a hero eating the fruit salad.
