Vegan Soul food

Checked out this spot due to a recommendation from a non-vegan coworker. This spot had many non-vegan and vegan options great for a blended crowd. They have a completely vegan menu which I had to ask the server for. I got the BBQ jackfruit with a side of yams. The quality and quantity of the food was well worth the price. Nice to have another restaurant on Gaston county with vegan options. Hoping to go back for the Brunch as they have vegan options for that as well.

Pros: Flavor, Vegan Menu, Service

Cons: Lots of meat items

Chickn nd waffles hit the spot!

Although everything vegan is clearly marked, I’m pretty sure there was honey on my chicken and waffles, so be sure to ask them not to drizzle that on top if you want to avoid it. Other than that, the dish was delicious and service was friendly and fast. Would definitely go back if I lived in the area!

Pros: Good portion, Good service, Clearly labeled and plentiful options

Cons: Used honey

Delicious!

Just had a delicious lunch at this somewhat new restaurant that had many wonderful vegan options. I had a ‘sampler’ of 3 vegan sides and all of them were healthy and full of flavor. I had the collards, Creole red beans, and yams. I’m bummed I’m only visiting because I would love to eat here every week!

Pros: Wonderful spices, Beautiful space, Lovely staff

Southern Soul Food with Lots of Vegan Options!

There are so few vegan options in the Gastonia area that EJ's is a breath of fresh air! This new restaurant has something for everyone, including several vegan options, so it's a great place to go in a mixed group. The owner, Dara takes great pride in providing a delicious meal for all her patrons and she even hired a vegan chef as a consultant for her menu. Vegan options are displayed with pride and include a BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich with Vegan Purple Cabbage Slaw , Beyond Meat Cheeseburger, Creole Red Beans and Rice, and Plant Based Crab Cakes. She even has a vegan sampler platter. I had the Creole Red Beans and Rice with my two sides of vegan green beans and collards... delicious! Many of their plentiful sides are vegan, including baked yams, creole red beans, collards, purple cabbage slaw, cooked cabbage and rice. (Entrees come with two sides, while sandwiches come with one side.) You can also just order the sides to make your own combination. All vegan and gluten free items are easily identified on the menu.

The restaurant is impeccably clean and well cared for. If you’re looking for southern comfort food with a vegan twist, you’ve found the place!

Pros: Several delicious vegan options!, The owner is delightful with a solid ethos, I loved that EJ's is spreading the vegan word
