Excellent Plant Based Dining Experience

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and had the 7 course Plant Based Kaiseki Tasting Menu. It was so delicious.
Every item that came out was so beautifully and artfully presented. It was really like eating artworks. Each item is also healthy and simple but the taste is so 'balanced.' It is hard to describe the deliciousness but my palate knows it.
Also, it seems that each item is small in portion(except the hot pot) but at the end of our meals we were both very full and satisfied.

The main entree is a big portion of Japanese hot pot with all different kinds of mushrooms , 2 different kinds of tofu, and different kinds of Asian vegetables. A plate of udon was added at the end to the hot pot. The broth of the hot pot was a delicious sesame miso and soy milk broth. So yum!

The service was excellent. Waitress and manager helped us with the hot pot and cleared dirty dishes quickly. Even the owner came and helped us. She was so sweet and when we told her about the tough stem of one of the vegetables that she wanted to correct this problem for future customers and makes sure that it will be corrected. It shows that this restaurant cares about the quality of their products.

The ambience was calm and serene although the outside of this restaurant is busy LA downtown streets. We don't hear what is going on outside once inside the restaurant but a nice, serene, and calming music.

At the end of the meals we were treated with a special desserts on the house for our anniversary that includes red bean cakes, mochi cakes, and fresh fruits. This is on top of the black sesame and cacao plant based ice creams that were included in the meal.

I was so happy that I picked this restaurant for our celebration. We will be back with our friends.

We came on a Sunday night and parked at Aiso Parking garage which is located 1/2 a block diagonally from the restaurant. It turned out the parking was free after 5 pm. Nice!

Pros: Unique, Taste , Presentation

Cons: Far from home , Located in downtown LA

Unique experience

Did the 7 course plant based experience and it was amazing! Most the dishes were a brand new concept to me and my partner. Everything was delicious. Such a great date night. The hot pot broth was to die for. Highly recommend!

Must do a reservation.
