Variedad local frita

Muy rica la comida, mucha variedad y pagas por cantidad. Lo malo es la falta de comida fresca como ensaladas o frutas, todo es frito

Great prices but be early!

This place is very basic but has good veggie food (buffet style). We enjoyed our food but were a bit disappointed by the fact that most of it was cold. Due to the amount of people, we didn't doubt the freshness of it (they just don't have a good heating system to keep it warm) so we filled up our plates and sat down. Friendly staff, we had big piles of food and all together was about 40 ringgit (3 people). Tomorrow morning we will go there as soon as it opens so the food will be warm😄

Pros: Nice food for cheap, Friendly staff, City centre

Cons: Lots of buffet options were cold

Yum

Came here almost everyday. The plates are small so you will end up with a mountain of food😄they have lots to choose from and it’s always delicious. I paid for 10rm for a big plate and my boyfriend had heaps more and paid 14rm for his which was so filling no dinner was needed that night😄

Pros: Tasty, Cheap , Lots of different foods to choose from

Ee beng

Had the veg buffet. It's a bit pricy for the portion. 14rm for two moderately filled plates of food (plates are kinda small). The food is too sweet for my liking but having said that, I had a thin coconut milk curry with kaffir lime leaves, curry leaves (I think), potato, mock chicken and pumpkin which was really nice. Super fragrant. I like that I could enjoy local south East Asian curries without having to eat meat. They also had Penang specialties like lor mee and curry mee. Good variety but of course, most items were cooked with oil. They have brown rice which I appreciated. Overall, if you're in a pinch, it's not a bad place. There are lots of locals enjoying Saturday lunch here so I assume the food is circulated quickly.

Pros: Variety , Can try veg versions of local food

Cons: Kinda very pricy

We need more places like this!

large variety of of fake meats, curries and vegetables. Buffet
style, filling up your plate in usually €2 or under. I always go for the massaman style curry with some kind of tofu and potatoes. along with the tons of sauteed dark green and other veggis. when your traveling, you need your veg!! +cheap drinks..ice coffees and teas..Fresh juices(ask
for no sugar if you don't want).
They also have fresh steamed buns filled with fake meat
or sweet with peanut or red bean!

If you want brown rice come before noon! the earlier you
come better chances of having hot food also. another downer, they don't use garlic or onions.

So good!

Tons of dishes to choose from. I filled my entire plate with mock meat and vegetables and it came to 15 MYR. A steal, given how much I had on my plate. The dishes are fresh and the staff is nice. The woman at the front examines your food and tells you how much it is. She’s very serious about it, and takes her tongs out to dig through your plate - I got a kick out of her, she was pretty hilarious. I also got a Veggie Big Pao in the steamer to take with me, and they were filled with fake pork; it was one of the best steamed buns I’ve had in SE Asia! A great Buddhist buffet to check out if you’re in Georgetown!

Pros: Fresh food, Great steamed buns , Lots of variety

Cons: Soy milk is way too sweet

Favourite place in Penang

I came here 5 times and loved the food. There is so much stuff to try, the staff is very friendly and it is super cheap. The location is very basic, not a fancy restaurant, but i only care about the food. I'd always come back!

Pros: many options, buffet

Yummy food, price potentially high

I came here twice during my stay due to the ease and variety offered. Not only do they have mock meats, noodles, and tofu products, but they have an abundance of vegetables!!! Steamed broccoli, cauliflower (both not drenched in sauce or oil), pumpkin, bok choy, cabbage, and other unidentifiable but tasty options. Veggie lovers rejoice!!

I got a huge plateful (on the verge of things falling off) with no rice underneath, just vegetables and such. I paid around 14 R both times. Pricy for a meal, but considering I got a huge load of veggies, I feel ok about it!

Would recommend.

Really good, and cheaper than most places.

Great selection, tasty food, and prices are low (below 14 ringit per plate).
Definitely worth going to if you're in the area, especially at lunch time when there is a massive selection of food.
The reason I give 4 stars, not 5 is because the lady who examines your food is not friendly, she hardly makes eye contact then just silently prods your food before deciding how much to charge. Another reason is that compared to Chang Yen, this place seems expensive. At Chang Yen, I could load up my plate for 7 ringit, and here it's 14, or for the size of a 5 plate at Chang Yen, it was 10 here. I will admit that even at 14, it's still a great deal for the tastyness and quantity.

cheap and tasty!

The buffet style lunch had a lot of variety - a good mix between faux meat and vegetable dishes. The staff were friendly and my hungry tummy was full in no time. The mixed plate and a lime soda came to 6.50MR. I'll be back!

Pros: Easy to find. Cheap. Tasty.

Best lunch place in Penang

We went here twice even though it was a bit of a walk from our hotel - but so worth it! A buffet with much to choose from, we paid less than 10RM per person each time. They have great drinks as well, such as carrot, apple and orange juice, ice tea etc, for only 2RM.

Pros: Great vegan food - many options, Cheap, Good drink choices

Huge Variety

As others have said, there is a fantastic range of foods to choose from at this buffet style restaurant. Lots of mock meats but also lots of single veg dishes.

All the food was super tasty and an excellent range for kids - nothing was very spicy.

The restaurant itself was in a great location and it was clean and tidy inside. The staff were really friendly. Considering we paid 39RM for 4.5 adult sized meals (ex drinks) we had a great experience!

Also the fresh juices were made of whole fruit and were just 2RM each.

Excellent selection. Questionable pricing

I've been here a couple days in a row and the food here is great , a huge selection , id say about 30 dishes to choose from in a buffet style, including pastries like spring rolls and a selection of buns. They price up how much u have on your plate but today I had less amount of curries on my plate but it was more expensive for some reason. Roughly 10RM a plate still so I don't think it matters too much as it's still so cheap.

Pros: Massive selection, Tasty

Cons: Don't know how the pricing works

Dishonest Milk used NOT vegan

After having a buffet lunch I ordered an iced coffee with soy milk. I saw they had soy milk but instead I was brought a coffee with sweetened dairy milk. When I asked to see the ingredients of the condensed milk I was promised it contained no dairy milk as they were "pure vegetarian". Not true! The milk can clearly listed "milk powder" in Malay. I returned the coffee and was refunded the cost.

Pros: Extraordinary vegetarian buffet, Inexpensive

Cons: Extraordinary rude Chinese staff, Staff dishonest lied about ingredients, Staff not aware of the term 'vegan'

Awesome vegetarian buffet

Awesome vegetarian buffet with lots of mockmeats (salmon, ribs, fried chicken,...). Very friendly chinese people who indeed just take a look at what's on your plate and then tell you what it costs.

Pros: Fresh, Many vegetables and mockmeats, Less greasy than typical malaysian cuisine

Cons: No signs so if you have allergies this would be tr

Nice food but dubious pricing

Enjoyed the food here. If you like Chinese style buffet food with plenty of mock meats you'll enjoy it. But as a few previous contributors have mentioned the pricing seems to be completely arbitrary. I was badly short changed by the cashier (I don't believe it was an accident) and also wildly overcharged by the same cashier for the food. It's a real shame, and regardless of the tasty food, feeling like I'd been purposefully ripped off really put me off; I didn't go back,

Really good food. Buffet style with so many choices and lots of veggies! Help yourself and then take your plate to the counter and they tell you how much it is. I had a big plate of food and it was only 7 ringgit!

So many veggies!

I liked this place a lot. Kale, eggplant, cauliflower, cabbage, etc. Come here if you need greens. I went for lunch and the only downside was that some of the dishes were a little bit cold.

Not What it Used to Be

I used to visit Penang especially for Ee Beng, but this place has gone downhill big time. No more Asam laksa; the restaurant next door has closed; and they seem to charge arbitrarily based on whatever they feel like charging you on the day. Not the place I remember.

Popular local diner with a buffet including many mock meat dishes

It is busy during peak hours. If one goes outside breakfast and lunch times, there is more place. They sell many Chinese vegan meat sauces/dishes in addition to vegetable dishes. And just plain meat analogues (such as "fish" inside seaweed). One can choose between rice and noodle varieties and add the veggies or meats on top. You will be charged based on the number of items. Also sweet and salty steamed buns are offered. The only place I did not manage to go back there was that it closed before I was ready to have dinner. Very tasty.

Pros: Large variety of vegan meats , Huge steamed buns, Buffet - eat what you see

Cons: Can get packed during peak hours, Maybe not clean enough for fans of sterile dining

Nice place for a quick stop

You can select an array of dishes here and combine interestingly-looking ingredients in your plate as you like. Almost all of them taste great and a few of them are extremely nicely done. Try it for a fast and simple meal, it's basically like street food for vegans/vegetarians/admirers of healthy stuff.

Pros: Fast, Cheap, The food tastes great

Cons: Doesn't look that clean, but I might be wrong

Can't make up my mind

It's one of those super simple, canteen style places. You come and choose the items you like. Some of the ones I've tried (been there twice) were very good to me and some were just not for my taste. Those wheat meats are not my cup of tea. The potatoes were amazing though! And noodles were meh the first time but second time were ok, enjoyable. So I can't make up my mind but not a fan of this place I guess. But my boyfriend adores it.

Pros: Plenty of choice you can make on your own, Friendly helpful staff, Cheap

Cons: Doesn't feel too clean, You are not sure how much exactly you gonna pay

Many great choices

Lots of delicious veggies and mock meats. Price was 9 RM both days for my full plate of 4 or 5 generous scoops (skipped the rice).
