Not Eco, not good

I don't know if this place was once better, or if it has always sucked. No vegan snacks, very limited vegan options. Therefore, not environmentally friendly, just another meat and dairy pusher trying to use the green label to get customers who don't know better. Wait staff is nice enough, but I live a couple blocks away and would rather travel for coffee

Cons: not vegan friendly, not eco-friendly, nothing special

I agree with your comments. There are very few vegan options. Not sure why they say they are vegan-friendly....maybe it means they are personally friendly to vegans. But I have found that most places that say VF have very few vegan options in New Orleans.

Nice Place on Canal

I have been to the Eco Cafe a couple of times. The food is consistently good. The service has been consistently bad. Takes way to long to get small things that go with the meal. Getting a refill on the coffee was very long. I think that they are not restaurant people and don't know how to train the wait staff. The owner pitches in and everyone seems to be very friendly and trying, but the fact is that service is the downside to this restaurant. On the upside, they built a great restaurant and the way they used wooden doors for their bar is very unique. I haven't tried the juices but will order that the next time I go. Also the bathrooms are wonderful.

Pros: Good Food, Great Quality for price, Wonderful Atmosphere

Cons: Slow service , Untrained staff, Need more Vegan options on the menu

'bathrooms are nice" ha ha! I will remember that when I have to go to the bathroom. Do they have low water use toilets? maybe that is what they mean by 'eco'. the food sure isn't.
