Deep fried block of tofu? - Edit
The vegan tofish and chips was a deep-fried block of smoked Tofoo Co. tofu with no additional flavour added. Weak effort at vegan fish and chips.

Tofush and chips was properly lush surely it hasn’t gone?!?! - Edit
Have never eaten anything else here because always too dribbly about the Tofush and chips...and fancy mushy peas. Apparently they are now doing sausage and chips.... nice, but...Bring back the F&C though eh??! :-)

Waited 1:15 hours for the food - Edit
I’m not sure if they had an off day, or if this is normal... but I don’t think I’ve ever waited this long on my food before. True, there was a big group, but the place wasn’t even half full... I won’t say that’s a great way of running a business.
Read moreWe were with little children and had prepaid parking. I’m a foreign visitor and only in Brighton for the day to meet my local friend, so our sightseeing round was severely cut short.
Then the food? Easy sandwiches and simple pasta which wouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to make. Not bad for sure, but not worth waiting for that long.

No fish and chips - Edit
Visited to try the fish and chips but it seems they change the menu often as this wasn't available. The other vegan options looked nice though! We chose to go somewhere else.

Some of the best vegan food I’ve had! - Edit
Absolutely amazing. Lots of vegan, vegetarian and meat options, was good for us as we are a mixed family of plant eaters and carnivores so catered to everyone. I shared the vegan carbonara and the tofu half and half with my partner, so so yummy, the pea purée on the tofu was to die for, better than any tofu and chips we’ve ever had before. Carbonara was beautiful with vegan bacon. The restaurant itself is so lovely and cosy, massive range of vegan guest beers, ales and ciders. The desert menu also featured lots of vegan delights but we were too full to order more. Shame it happy cow wouldn’t let us give it 5* it deserves it!

Took some carnivore family, food took ages. Think they forgot us but did give a discount as well as an offer of free drinks by means of apology.

Amazing food - Edit
When you have a non vegan partner it’s not always easy to keep both parties happy but earth and stars fits the bill perfectly and offered lots of vegan and gluten free options. To find vegan and gluten free is not always easy and to actually have a choice is brilliant! They also do gluten free beer and cider. Massive plus. I had the beer battered tofu and chips with tartare sauce and pea purée which was incredible. I would have given it five stars but it is not possible to do this on happy cow as it is not completely vegan/vegetarian.

Rude staff member put us off - Edit
We were 5 mins early and were just looking at the menu to see what was available and was told abruptly and very rudely to come back in ten minutes. And pretty much had the door slammed in our faces. Either the guy was having a bad morning or is always like that. Shame.

Amazing food. Welcoming atmosphere - Edit
Majority of the menu is vegan which is great. And even better seeing vegan desert options. I have eaten in Brighton a lot but this place is definitely up there in my top places to eat here. The battered tofu and chips is 100% the best vegan “fish and chips” I have ever had.

We stumbled across here on our way to a gig the night before we went and I’m very glad we did!
Read moreThey have loads of vegan options on their small menu and most sound awesome. We however were really interested in their Katsu Jack burger - it was INCREDIBLE I was secretly thinking it was going to be disappointed and almost ordered something else. I’m very glad I didn’t! The bun, fillings and dip sauce for the chips were all great quality and flavour - it was the best Vegan meal I’ve had in a pub and I will certainly be heading back to try their other options and Sunday lunch!
Pros: great options, lovely pub and amazingly tasty!

Sunday roast - Edit
Went for a Sunday roast, food was AMAZING; inventive, flavourful, dynamic and a big portion!
Read moreI got the smoked seitan roast, all roasts come with loads of extras and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Vegan options are amazing here, and my non vegan family also loved the non vegan food
Pricey, but definitely worth it here.
However, the set up isn't the nicest, we booked beforehand and we were moved during our beginning drinks to a cramped table next to the door. Dogs everywhere, which is fine with me but some people don't like that. Not enough space at our table to be honest, and the decor isn't that nice. If they refurbished this pub it would be a much nicer dining atmosphere
Pros: Amazing taste, So much effort put into food, Great choice and vegan options
Cons: Set up, Service, Price

They have plenty of vegan options on the menu from tofu or seitan burgers, tofush and chips, curry etc... It was so hard to chose- they all looked so good!
Read moreThey also do vegan Sunday roast options on a Sunday which I have yet to try but look so yummy.
I had the seitan burger with sweet potato fries and it was absolutely delicious.
Would definitely visit again- it's a good place to go if you're with a mix of veggies and omni's as there is something for all.
