Changed menu and was unsure about allergens - Edit
Had come to Dukes before to get a donut and had no issues, the person working there knew which ones were vegan and could assist us.
Read moreCame back recently and a different employee told me they had no idea what was vegan as the donuts were new. I asked if they had an allergen sheet so we could check and they didn’t have one.
Cons: Not clearly labelled , Untrained staff, No allergen menu

Too many changes - Edit
Used to be all-vegan, but was pretty average. When Temple closed down I felt they actually upped their game and improved their recipes though, and so for a while they filled that niche very well. They could've rotated through the flavours a bit more but I live very close by and probably dropped in more often than most so that was forgivable. But now they've reduced the number of vegan options drastically (from 100% to about 20 - 25%) and the flavours available just aren't as interesting as they used to be. Such a shame. They are open late though which means its possible to get a decent vegan snack on your way home which I really respect. Just wish they'd carried on working on making the vegan options better, instead of replacing them with diary options.

Changed donuts to not vegan - Edit
Most of their donuts now arent vegan as they said people didn’t like them. Only boring flavours like oreo and party ring left which you can get often

Basic but okay - Edit
They are hit and miss. Mostly miss. The creme filled ones all taste the same and sometimes theyre sour. The doughnuts themselves are just very bready but when they're fresh they're quite nice.
Read moreIf you're there or passing, it's ok. Really nothing special and quite overpriced. It's a real shame the idiotic and hypersensitive woke mob had Temple shut down.

1* sour donuts - Edit
I purchased 3 donuts. All kinda tasted the same and the second one we had tasted sour 🤮 inexcusable.
Read moreIt didn't seem especially clean inside and the server wasn't wearing a mask despite their own covid policy on the wall stating staff must wear masks at all times.
Pros: Peanut butter and jelly mikshake
Cons: Sour donut, Donuts are actually too big , All donuts taste similar - just sugar

Amazing - Edit
These donuts are amazing and there is so much choice! The donuts are huge so although they may sound expensive for one it is deffo worth the money ! I couldn’t believe our luck we had found it and it was open until the early hours of the morning. The only con I can think of is that there was a few options missing but I’m guessing they just sold out cos they’re so tasty!

Average and disappointing - Edit
Like user “RagAndBoneBird” I would agree with her points. I feel they blew up due to Temple Donuts having their scandal if you will, everyone recommended Dukes. The main points I’d take is limited menu which doesn’t seem to rotate and they look ok I guess, nothing spectacular. She is right when you order 3 donut deal you don’t get to choose which ones and I would agree they all have same generic flavouring and only a couple have filler or anything unique inside. Sure they taste nice, I guess but it’s just a plain donut which looks different on the outside. Once you’ve had places like temple donuts, Do boy, coffee boy’s donuts, project donut, Lux vegan cakes and brownies. You’ll realise how Dukes need to step up - but each to their own. I gave my honest review

Giant doughnuts - Edit
I tried this place as it seemed to get notoriety over night on social media. My feed was full of people showing of their beautifully colourful doughnuts with all kinds of filling.
Read moreI’m a marketing dream as it absolutely me want to eat doughnuts.
The first time I ordered from here in was via deliveroo and I ordered a box of three. They send you three flavours of there choices which I found a bit frustrating.
They were deceivers in minutes and in perfect condition. None of the options they had chosen for me had filling which was a little disappointing. Also, all three doughnuts tasted the same. They looked different as they had differ t coloured icing but I assume this was food colouring as I don’t think the colour rally affected the taste.
Second visit was a walk-in. The shop is really small and abut scruffy really. Most of the names of the doughnuts weren’t vis ale on the signs in the glass. This time I chose two, both with fillings. Cookies and cream and death by chocolate. Once again, they tasted the same. Gene rice icing with food dye. The same with the cream filling.
I think two visits is enough for me. The doughnuts really do look good but taste very plain and. It very interesting. Sorry Dukes.
Pros: All vegan options , Decent prices
Cons: Small venue , Taste plain

Friendly staff, great environment with lots of choices for doughnuts. We had the bisscoff lotus doughnut which had a caramel filling so good, very big so we shared it which was enough.

Nuts about Dough - Edit
Interesting find in an Interesting part of town. Massive range of fantastic scrumptious doughnuts which are all safely vegan and good value at £2.50 to £3. Open until the early hours and a few window seats to chill out on. There’s another branch in Batley too.
