‘Fish’ n chips - Edit
I was pleased to find a separate vegan/vegetarian section in the menu. There were a few options. I had ‘fish’, chips and peas. It was a smallish portion, just perfect for lunch with a pot of tea. Unfortunately nothing sweet for the vegans. Friendly staff. Spacious interior. Lovely setting in the park. Free parking nearby.

Limited vegan options - Edit
Three options on menu but in reality only 1 1/2. The vegan fish and chips were off. The vegan burger didn’t come with a bread roll/cob as that wasn’t vegan so they served it with a scone. The scone on both meals was heavy and dry. The sausage, with onion gravy, was burnt.

Disappointing portion - Edit
A few vegan options available but no vegan menu as such.
Read moreI ordered the vegan curry which was pretty basic. Tasted ok but literally had 8 small broccoli florets served on a mountain of white rice.
My friend took the lentil chili bean dish which looked much nicer and much better veg to rice ratio.
They also had a vegan soup option and offered vegan cheese and a vegan burger.

excellent vegan menu - Edit
I called in today for the first time, to try the new vegan brunch menu which launched this morning. I had a lovely warm welcome from the staff. I choose the puy lentil and bean chilli with garlic bread. It was yum!!! And just the right level of spiciness on a freezing cold day.
Read moreThe restaurant was full when I left at 115pm so I recommend booking.
Pros: several options on the vegan menu, soya milk available
Cons: sadly no vegan cakes today
