Vegan brownies and cats! - Edit
As a cat lover, this place is awesome. Cats are here to be socialized for adoption. Shop is great too, for all things you need for your cat. And any questions you may have are answered thoughtfully and accurately

Coffee for a good cause... - Edit
I love the DreamCatchers because it combines a cozy café atmosphere with animal adoption. The café is run by volunteers, so every Euro you spend there goes into the care of the cats. Visitors can get to know their potential new cat or simply enjoy the company of cats without the typical “cat café”. Meanwhile, the cats have a better living than in the animal shelter and are getting re-socialized to other cats and humans! Great concept. The people working there are standing 100% behind it and are very friendly. It’s definitely one of my favorite cafés in Gent! Reservations highly recommended but sometimes there’s a spot free by chance.

Cats, chocolate, ... heaven - Edit
It might seem a bit expensive, but ... they have a lot of cats to take care of :-)

Cats and vegan cake! - Edit
Cats and vegan cake, great combination!
Read moreWe paid an enytrance fee of 3€ pp. And 12 euro for the drinks and the two brownies, which were nice! The chairs were a bit uncomfy though (there are also some couches that are more laid back), and we found the lighting very bright (don’t know whether this is for a particular reason for the cats or not though).
There's also a small shop area with lovely cards, cat toys, and gift items. I also saw cat food being sold, and inquired about the availability of vegan catfood like Ami Cat (as it is hard to find in Belgium) but they seemed to have never heard of it (and replied quite reluctant and hostile to my question about vegan catfood, which I found somewhat disappointing).

Cafe is cat's meow - Edit
Can add very little to the thorough and excellent review below, except to point out that a nominal admission fee, along with the proceeds from sales of homemade cakes, various beverages, feline-themed items, cat food, and other supplies, help to provide this temporary home for its winsome residents until they are adopted into permanent ones. Also, reservations may be made online.

Cats, cakes, and coffee - what's not to like?
Read moreThe owners and staff are very friendly and cat-focused, doing their utmost to keep the little furballs happy and safe. Therefore, you are asked to comply with a few house rules upon entering, which are reasonable and should be no-brainers for every cat lover.
I loved the atmosphere, it felt like sitting in someone's living room, reading cat books and watching the cats play while drinking a beverage. (I went for the warm chocolate mylk, and it came with chocolate pieces that you had to stir in - mmmh, delicious!)
Due to popularity and in order not to freak out the cats with too many visitors at once, you are only allowed to stay for a time period of about an hour, which is completely understandable, but made me a bit sad as I would have liked to spend more time with the kitties. But there's always a next time I guess!
Pros: cats!
Cons: 1 hour time frame
