Will be missed - Edit
It was nice having a Mexican restaurant that had multiple vegan (and clearly labeled) options that never felt like afterthoughts. Always v solid, consistently well-prepared food and drinks.

A bit plain for my taste - Edit
One of the few places in Durham where you can find well thought vegan dishes. It was a bit tasteless, tbh, but the service was good and the prices where not that bad

Ask for vegan menu - Edit
Quaint place, funky vibe, pretty standard Americanized Mexican food. Ask for the vegan menu to see all the options.

No vegan menu for dinner - Edit
Just wanted to make everyone aware that the vegan menu is only a lunch option, the vegan options for dinner are much more limited (though there are two options)

Dedicated Vegan Menu 😍😍😍 - Edit
I can’t say enough good things about Dos Perros. Not only do they arguably have the best margaritas in Durham, but they also offer a separate vegan menu, all day everyday. Think flautas, ‘carnitas’ tacos and Chile rellenos, just to name a few. They even offer dessert and their soup of the day is always vegan. The staff is wonderfully friendly (the manager most of all) and my fiancé and I are sure to stop in whenever we are in town. Would 💯 give them 5 stars if I could. Go check them out, you will not be disappointed!

One of the most vegan-friendly options in Durham - Edit
Update 2019: Still love Dos Perros! And now even more so. They now offer a separate all-vegan menu during weekday lunches AND all day Sundays and Mondays. The lunch menu favorites are the vegan chimichanga, burrito, or quesadilla. There are soy protein and vegan cheese options. All their sauces (eg. mole, salsa verde, etc) are delicious!

The owner and managers at Dos Perros are so supportive and excited to offer vegan options. They have participated multiple times in the annual Bull City Vegan Challenge, and won in a few categories. After the 2014 Challenge, they decided it was such a success that in addition to offering the few vegan options on their regular menu, they will have a monthly rotating 3-course vegan special menu. My favorite is the vegan cheese enchilada with a margarita!

Great food, lots of options! - Edit
Dos Perros has lots of great vegan (and gluten free!) options. They have the options clearly marked on their menu. There is a vegan entree, tacos, enchiladas, etc. last time I went, they even gave me a separate vegan menu that had even more options!

Got the Vegan flour tortillas with cashew cream, oh man! Will definitely be back. Nice staff, will help you make other dishes vegan as well. They also have great margaritas if you are into cocktails.

Creative Options, Knowledgeable Staff - Edit
Dos Perros has a very small menu, but they always have a few vegan options. The ones that they do have are very creative and flavorful. The waitstaff and kitchen are more than willing to be accommodating and modify ingredients to make more items vegan.
Read moreThis is a great place for those with allergies, food sensitivities, and Celiac disease because they have a gluten free fryer and the staff is knowledgeable about the ingredients in the dishes. They are more than willing to accommodate guests and do it with a smile.
They often have special vegan menus as well with seasonal offerings. At least one dessert is usually vegan (a sorbet or ice cream) and they have a nice offering of mixed drinks.
This place gets 5 stars!
Pros: Delicious food, Seasonal ingredients, Gluten free fryer

All the sauce. - Edit
On my way through Durham at an odd time of the day, I found that there were not a terrible amount of places open for a late lunch, early dinner. Luckily, I found Dos Perros. I was a tad apprehensive because I typically do not have great luck with Mexican restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised. My waiter was an exceptional guy who really took care of me. The menu in small, but there are multiple vegan options available. I tried the flautas veganas and MAN, the sauce they use is incredible. I was basically licking my plate!

Best vegan friendly restaurant in Durham - Edit
I love this place! There is always a vegan appetizer and entree option and usually a dessert too. Most recently they've started having vegan beer dinners with multiple vegan courses and a beer pairing. Their first vegan beer dinner was the most successful beer dinner they've ever had. I usually go here for special occasion dinners in which I also enjoy their diverse selection of tequilas. Or you can go on taco night for a more low cost option. The vegan empanadas are my favorite. Their entrees and appetizers change frequently so you're always in for a new treat. Service is very good. But this place is noisy. I can overlook that because everything else is so darn good.
