Pleasing tavern feel - Edit
There are two things that I really liked about this place in the historic downtown. First, that it exists, serving vegan food in one of North Carolina's most conservative mountain communities, population 3,500. Second, it has a pleasing tavern feel that made me want to sit at a bar. The vibe and the service were excellent. I ordered the vegan chili with a side order of fries. The chili was tasty and healthy, and definitely more like a savory pinto-bean stew than like chili. (There was a faux meat, but its presence took a back seat to the beans, corn, and peppers). The fries were good. I would eat here again if passing through town.

Hidden gem - Edit
I am so glad to have found Dooley’s. In town for less than 24 hours and needed a quick meal. This was perfect! I started with a bowl of the vegan chili and it was delicious. Next I had a beyond burger and sweet potato fries. Just perfect! There is a vegetarian section of the menu with several types of veggie patties. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I am so thankful I live in a county that has a restaurant with vegan options. It's also the only restaurant in the county that I am aware of that has outside seating.

Quaint restaurant/bar on Main Street with friendly staff and comfortable feel! Several vegetarian options on the menu. I enjoyed the spicy black bean burger with guacamole added. I was so grateful to have this lunch option while in Wilkesboro for a conference

Great food! Lots of options! - Edit
Great bar & grill! They have a "tree hugger" section of the menu with all vegetarian options. They also have beyond burgers and vegan mozzarella, so other things on the menu can be made vegan. The faux chicken salad and the vegan chili are made with Bob's Red Mill TVP. Also lots of side options and a couple of appetizers too! They also share a door with to a great health food shop. It's a great partnership!
