Read moreWe've been to one of the other locations before but this was our first time eating here and actually eating in, instead of takeout.
We got the hungry vegan with the sweet earth bacon, and the vegan chicken bacon ranch. I am really picky about my tofu scramble having been vegan for a long time, and theirs was excellent!! Very well spiced. Pancakes were a little dry, which was easily solved by drenching them in the provided maple syrup. Chicken bacon ranch was also fantastic. Four vegan donut flavors were available when we were in!

With a dedicated “Vegan” page on their menu, Donut Villa is committed to providing tasty vegan options. There are very few Newton establishments that are doing vegan food at all so this is a real treat! Vegan donuts too, of course!! Visit them and see for yourself!

We enjoyed a wonderful vegan breakfast, with lots of options including tofu scramble, chick'n and waffles, etc. The space was clean and spacious with good service. They had 5 kinds of vegan donuts that day, which was nice, although they are actually all the same (like yellow cake) and only the frosting is different.
Read moreThe food is definitely comfort food, with a lot of vegan meat and cheese and few if any whole food options. But it tastes good, and having a wide-ranging vegan menu in this neighborhood is a real blessing.
There is also a full bar, if you like that kind of thing.
Pros: Dedicated vegan menu with lots of options, Gluten free available, Kid-friendly (donuts, right?)

My new favorite local place - Edit
Great variety of vegan options. Donuts are cake style with a bit of a nice fried crunch. We tried the chocolate frosted which has a delicious chocolate flavor and the glazed which was good but nothing exciting. Looking forward to trying the others. This is my go to now as I like the menu, hours, location, seating and service. My friend still prefers Blackbird for the softer, doughier version.
