Delicious! - Edit
Their donuts are amazing. The first time I tried one I couldn't believe it was all vegan. I find the glazed donut to be a bit sweet, but other members of my family don't agree. My all-time favorite is the Strawberry Lab, the Fudgegazi is also a family favorite. If you want to create your own, I love their lemon glaze. You also can never go wrong with a vegan ice cream donut sandwich!

Krispy Kreme of Vegan Donuts - Edit
My vegetarian (almost vegan) bf has had trouble giving up donuts until I finally dragged him here. He now refuses to eat them from anywhere else. “It’s ruined me for other donuts.” They’re light, airy, and just perfect. Their options consist of their signature donut with a variety of toppings and fillings, and don’t forget to try their donut ice cream sandwich for a sugar rush. The strawberry lab and strawberry so far (perfect strawberry flavor) are some of my faves.

Perfect Donuts - Edit
I got about a half dozen different flavors delivered so I can't speak to the physical store. But I can say the variety of flavor of the donuts is outstanding. We tried plain glazed, bacon 182, cherry 3, custard front drive, jets to basil, and husker blu. They were beautiful to see and beautiful to eat. Cannot recommend enough.

My anytime vegan donut fix! - Edit
I first went to Donut Friend with my family, long before I went vegan. We just all thought it was a great, hipster donut shop in the neighborhood!
Read moreWent back with a vegan friend just after we both converted and was reminded that the shop is fully vegan! What a great surprise!
After many trips, both planned and spur-of-the-moment, I have now tried most of their pre-configured donut options. I say “pre-configured” because they allow you to choose your own custom combinations with their ingredients. I haven’t had a bad donut, but by far my favorite is the Strawberry Lab! So delicious and no guilt!
Pros: Completely vegan in every way!, Great ready-made combos, Totally customizable!
Cons: Sometimes parking is a little tricky, Getting a little too popular! Not just my little s

Wide selection of donuts - Edit
They offer a wide selection of vegan donuts. Even you can customize one if you want. All of them are very tasty, although a bit oily. Still worth of visiting the place.

Scrumptious Fancy Donuts - Edit
The store is cute, but I actually ordered in advance for a special birthday order. They do custom orders (including letters!), and I will absolutely order from them again! The flavors were all so unique and the donuts looked as good as they tasted. I also thought their custom order pricing was very reasonable, and pick up was easy.

Mind blowing!!! - Edit
You need this in your life and face. Never mind vegan, these are the finest donuts the world has ever seen. The choice is overwhelming, allow time for pondering and extra cash for a takeout box.
Read moreThere are traditional, glazed / dusted and cream filled, they cost around $2.50 a piece but maybe more for a really fancy one. They are named with wicked music puns. I wonder if there is more to life than donut friend (there isn't).
Pros: THE BEST DONUTS, Choice of fancy ones
Cons: A little out of the way (for us)

I have to admit that I never ate a donut before but if this is how they taste I really understand why they are so popular in the States.

Best vegan donuts - Edit
This place is 100% vegan and has some of the greatest donuts I have had, including the many I had before I was vegan. The place offers a ton of options, and all the donuts are excellent. Many are light, fluffy and perfectly creamy, except for the more cake-like donuts (which are not made to be fluffy, and are still great). Overall this place is great, atmosphere is friendly (not a pretentious or overly bohemian environment), everything is vegan and they have coffee and juices to go with the donuts. Awesome.

Transitioning to All Vegan?! - Edit
When we were there, apparently EVERYTHING was vegan including the nutella! I think some of the options you have with the make-your-own are not, but the ones in the display case were all vegan. So we died and went to indecision heaven!
Read moreMy cousins and I got a few (yes few) boxes of donuts, almost getting one of each flavor, then getting a few more of our favorites we had already gobbled up to take home for later. I'm going to need that Sriracha PBJ donut again...Sugar crashed and already have withdrawals....:)

Cons: deadly

Vegan Donuts - Edit
I tried Donut Friend at the SoCal Vegfest in Costa Mesa last year and fell in love! They were at VegFest LA this year but the line was way too long for me so we decided to head over to their shop.
Read moreI asked at the counter how to tell which donuts were vegan and I was told that all donuts were vegan. There were 2 that had a vegan option (they customize your donuts for you) and there was one special that could not be made vegan. Considering all of the options available this was a pretty good ratio.
All of our choices were on the favorites menu and all were great! Definitely check them out!
Pros: Friendly staff, Fresh, Custom Creations
Cons: So close to being 100% Vegan

Love my Donut Friend. My daughter have started finding excuses to go to LA so we can swing by Donut Friend and pick up some donuts.
Read moreThe menu changes often but they seem to have several standard items. Most of them are vegan but not all. They do mark have them listed as such.
If it weren't a specialty place I would freak out about $2.50 for a donut, but you get what you pay for and its worth it!
Pros: Delish, Pleanty of vegan options
Cons: expensive, you do have to read or you may get honey

Cool Little Donut Shop - Edit
We went after 11pm on a Friday night and it was packed with a line out the door. That gave us time to decide what we wanted to get. There were many vegan options (more vegan than non-vegan), and the vegan donuts had little "v" symbols next to the price. Some of the non-vegan donuts had a vegan option (marked with "vo."), but when my friend asked for a vegan version of one of their caramel donuts she was told that there was no vegan option. So be sure to clarify if you order a "vegan option" donut flavor.
Read moreI noticed that a lot of the donut names were plays on song titles or band names.
My donut was the White Chocolate Stripes, which I'm certain was an ode to The White Stripes. It was fun trying to figure out who the donuts may have been named after.
The raspberry frosting and glaze on my donut was deliciously sweet, but the donut itself was a little bit dry. I wonder if they're more moist and fresh earlier in the day, as this was very close to closing time when we went. I am willing to give them another try. The Strawberry Shortcake looked amazing. I'll go earlier in the day next time to try that one.
