Good Vegan Donut/Apple fritter - Edit
Call ahead and ask what vegan donuts are available. It is very hard to order when nothing is marked vegan or no sign to which flavors are vegan. It is crowded and the staff rushes you and does not speak clearly.
Read moreThere were only 4 vegan donuts available (and no chocolate ones much to my disappointment) I got a creme brûlée but had to take off the hard candy like topping and give it to hubby, other than that it was good. He got the apple fritter which was really good!
Pros: Good donuts
Cons: Very Busy, Downtown Parking, Small and felt rushed to order

I wish I could have tried the donuts but none were vegan - Edit
This place was super cute and I was excited to try a vegan donut. I walked about a mile from my hotel to try one. The description in other reviews indicated that there were “tons” of vegan options so I didn’t think I needed to call ahead. When I arrived I waited in line for ten minutes only to be told that there were no vegan donuts (I arrived in the morning). The cases were overflowing with donuts and not one was vegan. Don’t waste your time walking here. If you are in the neighborhood then it would be worth it to pop in and ask if they have any vegan donuts. Just don’t count on it. It is a bummer because non-vegans can eat vegan donuts, but vegans cannot eat non-vegan donuts. The fact that they had cases overflowing with donuts and not a single one was vegan was a real shame.

great donuts, friendly staff - Edit
We went here twice while in SD and very much enjoyed the donuts. They had several and each of them were delicious. I particularly enjoyed the apple fritter.

great donut and good coffee - Edit
Tried creme brûlée, apple fritter and the strawberry cream donut. Really liked the apple fritter and creme brûlée flavours! The strawberry donut was only okay the cream filling had a strange texture but after I removed that the donut was very light and fluffy and tasted good!

just need to be ALL vegan! - Edit
We visited Donut Bar while in San Diego and got 3 out of the four vegan donuts offered that day: apple fritter, crane brûlée, and cinnamon sugar. The fritter and the cinnamon sugar were huge and all three were delicious - just as I remembered donuts tasting from before I was vegan. Now if only they'd just make all of their donuts vegan!!

Strawberry Split and Crème Brûlée! - Edit
Donut Bar is one of the best donut shops in the world. Huge donuts for less than $4 each with flavors like Strawberry Split- a yeast raised, sugar coated, lightly glazed donut so reminiscent of a childhood favorite, cut in half and stuffed with bright, naturally sweet strawberries, finished with a huge dollop of vegan whipped cream. It's a stunning donut, tourists from all of the world order it, devour it, none the wiser to it being vegan.
Read moreLikewise, the Crème brûlée donut is so popular among locals and tourists, vegan and non-vegans alike, that it is usually the first to sell out. A yeast raised donut filled with delicious, creamy custard, topped with a delicate but hard layer of caramel that practically sings when you bite into it.
All the vegan flavors on the menu are labeled with a little green leaf. Or, just ask for one of each vegan flavor.
Soy and Almond milk available for all their coffee and espresso drinks.
BONUS- Now open in the evening, too. Re-opens at 5pm until 10pm, serving craft beer.
Pros: Strawberry Split Donut, Creme Brulee Donut, Banana Donut
Cons: Parking, Long morning lines

Donuts to die for! - Edit
This place makes new and exciting donuts each and every day! For the flavors of the day you can check their website or Facebook page. They stay open til all the donuts are gone. They made probably 20 or so flavors per day, at least 4 of which are vegan. People line up down the block to get in and its well worth the wait!
Read moreWhen I went they had a vegan apple fritter, a banana caramel donut and a sugar donut. I tried all of them, and they were all very good, especially the banana caramel one, each bite was like a mini trip to heaven! There had been a few other vegan flavors that day, one of them being creme brûlée, but they were all sold out when we got there!
I definitely recommend trying their donuts and I recommend going more than once to try all different flavors!
Pros: vegan donuts!!
