Such a lovely restaurant - Edit
The restaurant offers a great variety of vegan food. We came in the afternoon, so we could only order starters or a platter for two persons. The food was fresh and sooo delicious. The portion sizes are quite big for starters, which we liked. Staff was also very nice.

We went back for dinner after an amazing lunch and was actually disappointed with our second visit. The serving sizes on our dinner dishes were a lot smaller and we were speechless over the size of the 7€ hummus and bread. Hummus and bread is so cheap but yet we got a serving not enough for a child of hummus and then one small piece of pita. And on second thought, the whole place is rather expensive. Yummy food but you have to pay a lot for it

Donna Vegana is not in the heart of Mallorca, but can be accessible by car. The place is cute, the staff is helpful. And the food… It was amazing! We ordered tha plate for two, which is a selection of almost all the courses of the menu.

We ate at Donna Vegana and walked In without a reservation and it was easy to get a table, but would recommend making a reservation as they got really busy right after we got there.

Outdoor area is large and welcoming, and we were greeted immediately. Staff was friendly and attentive the whole night, and we felt super welcome.

First of all - food was really good, tasty and lot of colours. Desserts were absolutely gorgeous! Also staff were super nice and very attentive, no problem at all. But! The place itself is terrible. It is inside some weird posh complex (literally next to a plastic surgery clinic), weird atmosphere. It claims to be super-duper organic bla bla bla but all plants are artificial and plastic (!). It looks awful. It is very pricey. All surroundings look totally unwelcoming. On top of that, some guy started to clean windows in the middle of our dinner literally one meter from us, it was ridiculous :D. Yea and when they hand you a terminal for the payment, lowest preset tip is 15 percent, seriously not a nice touch.

You are claiming that a preset tip is forcing the customer to tip a lot, which is a false statement and misleading for people reading your review. You just skip that part like you decline or accept cookies on a website. Where’s the big deal to make such a fuss about it when the food and service was really good as you yourself admit?

Reviews are personal and based on the feelings. I felt awful and awkward at that place, inspite the food and service. All reasons which lead to overall experience, I clearly described. Pointing out guilt tipping is a not false statement but you are right - it is technically "easy" to choose different tip. I understand that you are personally involved in vegan scene here and I really appreciate that, I also appreciate you took your time to check my other reviews so you know I rarely rate something less than full stars. I respect the fact not all places are for everyone. This place was not for me. I hope our conversation helps others to not be mislead and clarified my ratings.

First of all, I hope my comments didn’t give you the feeling that I’m being offensive. Being vegan for me is a state of consciousness, so I don’t only respect animals and our Mother Earth, but also each human and their opinions and of course feelings. But also I have a strong sense for justice, which again makes sense when being vegan. So I felt it necessary to correct at least your statement that a preset tip is forced. I am not personally involved in the vegan scene of Mallorca. I have been at Donna Vegana only three times and am not friends with them. I am an ambassador of Happy Cow because I support the philosophy of veganism and I find joy in supporting members to find places through the app and also businesses to get clients.
I don’t agree that reviews should be based on personal feelings. They should be primarily objective, which means that if there is nothing to claim that was bad in an objective way, like food was uncooked, venue was dirty, wrong vegan labels, etc., a rating should at least be 3 stars, especially for a fully vegan venue. Of course one is free to mention personal emotions and opinions, but I think your review is quite unfair, because from how you wrote it, it is obvious that what made you give only two stars, which literally means "needs improvement" was you personal awkwardness in what you described a posh and ugly area. And maybe you should ask yourself where that awkwardness in such surroundings comes from, because again; objectively the surrounding of Ahimsa is not more beautiful. And I by the way love Ahimsa, it is one of my favourites, too. Last, if every vegan business owner has to choose their location based on which businesses are next or close to them, having a vegan business would be even harder. That point to me is also very unfair. And what if I told you that when Donna Vegana opened the clinic you mention wasn’t there? Who knows? Shall they move just because now they have a beauty clinic as neighbours?
Your review on Ahimsa appeared on my feed as well, I didn’t stalk your other reviews, I’m not fanatic. I really just feel that sometimes it is necessary to raise awareness. And as vegans, we are in this together. Aren’t we?

I definitely don't take it as anything offensive and I am glad you raised your voice, especially when you felt it is unjust. I understand your point about supporting vegan bussines. Happy cow already provide that by minimum 2 star rating. I am sorry, but I don't understand the concept of objective personal ratings of restaurants, even less statements as "objectively less/more beautiful". I am always taking all reviews (not only here) as subjective experience. Others found the place great, good for them, I welcome anyone to give it a try and see it for themselves.

El personal molt amable i atent, amb bones explicacions de tot el que calia. Com a consell els diria que informen de les coses que són molt picants, com per exemple el Pad Thai, del qual no esperava un nivell tan alt de picant.
D'altra banda vaig trobar a faltar la carta en català i castellà (encara que aquesta última tenia excusa, ja que ens van informar que tenen demanades cartes noves).
En definitiva: preus massa elevats i és molt poc probable que tornem.

We specifically walked to Donna Vegana because it is the only all-vegan restaurant in Santa Ponsa. You can take a bus if the walk is too far (we took a bus back).

Then we shared the 'chicken' wrap and the mini pizzas. The wrap was nice and refreshing; the yogurt, mint and pickles all worked really well together. The mini pizzas were very tasty - didn't taste much like pizza because it was more the bolognese sauce then pizza sauce but it was still really nice :)
The staff were nice and friendly. The menu is in English, and they had a lot of variety to choose from, so we may go back to try the rest of the menu!

I was staying in Palma, which is ~$80 RT from Donna Vegana on taxis, so I was expecting a spectacular meal given the reviews. The food wasn’t bad, I ate it … but it was nothing special. There are way way better vegan restaurants in Mallorca.
Read moreI don’t ever leave sub par reviews. And I do want to acknowledge this spot is Vegan, GF, mostly organic, supports local farmers and the staff was great & friendly. That is important! But the food was so incredibly sub par, I’m not understanding how it’s got the ratings it has. Especially since it’s off the beaten path, it is NOT worth the drive.

We visited Donna Vegana several times and each time we were blown away by their friendliness and kindness and we felt at home. This is a restaurant with one mission; to serve the best vegan food and provide the best customer experience possible, and they actually manage to deliver both.

Donna & Alejandro has together with their devoted staff, managed to create an oasis in Santa Ponsa, and in my humble opinion, the best one on Mallorca.
When it comes to the food, there are so many tasteful dishes to choose from. Each one of the ones we tried, were delicious and had the perfect flavour and freshness to it.
If you happen to be on Mallorca, make yourself the favour and visit Donna Vegana. It’s a visit that will stay with you for a long time afterwards.

Delicious food? Definitely. Expensive? Also definitely. I would recommend it 100% if you're open to splurge. I spent €31 on a side dish, main dish (that wasn't that much) and a smoothie - sounds like much but it really wasn't (I posted photos for reference). The place was very beautiful. Also, the servers were fluent in both Spanish and English.
