Larger venue than the one in town. Choice of 6 vegan doughnuts when we called and as it was close to Christmas they also had a few reduced. Taste was and texture/consistency much better than supermarket or Greggs vegan doughnuts. Hot americano with oat milk was a good strong coffee. I will be back to this branch as there's more room than the one in town.

Read moreQuite pricey so makes for a nice treat. You are paying for the novelty of the topping / design; sometimes the taste isn’t anything better than a supermarket doughnut due to the odd flavourings used to achieve the colours of the design on the topping.
Cons: Expensive , Sometimes out of stock due to demand

Doe donuts are a bit of an icon on the York food scene, & Vegans don't have to miss out; I couldn't believe how many options there were! As far as I can remember, they taste just like any regular donut. They are absolutely huge, so I'd say the price is reasonable & you can get multibuy offers (which is great when you want to try all the flavours😉). At the store in town they sell out very quickly, so you're best to go in the morning, but in Layerthorpe I think they have a more steady supply throughout the day. The Layerthorpe café also does pot-painting which is a nice touch. You can do customised orders online & preorder large amounts to collect by contacting them. Also, nearly forgot, but their coffees are damn good too for a great price! Absolutely recommend!

Loved the donut. They wouldn‘t win a competition for their looks, but don‘t be fooled by their messy appearances. These are worth every penny. The coffee was really good as well, and presented in these pretty awesome yet not sustainable cups (unfortunately we could not have regular cups outside).

Have been following these guys on Instagram for ages and finally made it in. Plenty of vegan choices and the donuts are HUGE - we had one between two and even tho I have a sweet tooth it was enough! Good coffee too.
