Fantastic brunch - Edit
The breakfast here is, in my opinion, better than the evening food. The main menu feels overpriced for what it is and there is better/more authentic/less commercialised vegan Indian food in Manchester and surrounds. The vegan sausage naan however is amazing, as are the beans you can have as a side and the chai can be made with soy- delicious and unlimited !

I didn’t enjoy - Edit
I thought the food was severely overpriced and it honestly was not that great. I didn’t think the food tasted very authentic and there are defo places that are better and also cheaper

Gorgeous venue, food and staff - Edit
Had amazing vegan chickpea chana puri with puffed up bread, warm but not too spicy, and amazing pot of almondy pishwari naan filling. So unusual and fragrant. Highly recommend!

A little expensive but worth it - Edit
Eaten both Breakfast and Dinner here and would recommend both. Dinner is my preference though! I’d recommend the Okra Fries and Gunpowder Potatoes. Lovely atmosphere, great service. A little expensive but worth it.

Great vegan breakfast fare - Edit
I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options.
Read moreThe sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce.
My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri - a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted.
I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk - you get free refills for your chai.
Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant.

The best vegan Indian EVER - Edit
I can’t stop thinking of this place. The venue is gorgeous, the service was excellent and the food blew me away. Waitress gave recommendations as I was overwhelmed by the choice and oh my god it was unreal. Even recommended cocktails to accompany the food I’d chosen. Chilli espresso martinis btw 🫶 Can’t rate this high enough.

This is such a great restaurant with plenty of vegan options. I had The Vegan Bombay and Chai with oat milk for breakfast and both were delicious! It included vegan black pudding which I’ve not seen anywhere else before and would recommend you try. Service and atmosphere was also excellent.

Rose lassi 😍 - Edit
My favourite small plate was the one described as buttery bread buns with mashed vegetables. Staff were wonderful - there was a mix up with dishes being vegan and they were so kind and resolved it so speedily. We were celebrating birthdays with a friend and they gave us a free vegan dessert which was completely unexpected and extremely kind. Also the cardamom and rose lassi was DELICIOUS with oat yoghurt.

I have been going to Dishoom for a while and I am never disappointed, whether it is the breakfast menu or the all day menu. So many options for vegans. Great flavoursome food, decent portions and not had a bad meal or experience yet.
Read moreAnother reason why I love Dishoom so much is the service. Always accommodating, always friendly and go beyond the usual service in hospitality.
The decor of the building is another positive. Just beautiful.
Overall I always leave happy. Today I went for breakfast and had the vegan Akuri and the vegan oat chai ( which is refillable). With the chai being refillable be sure to let them know you're done as they will constantly bring you a new one without you asking when they see it is empty.

Not many options, relatively unimaginative - Edit
Perhaps because we are spoiled with vegan Indian restaurants in Manchester, but we found this a little unimaginative for vegan dishes, a chickpea curry is the main item on the menu, which was a bit disappointing. The okra fries and corn on the cob were nice. To be honest we expected a little more since it's such a nice restaurant.

Worth queuing for! - Edit
Queued for 45 minutes outside in the cold and rain! We were given the choice of mint tea or chai (with dairy in).
Read moreIt was worth the wait! We had khichia and chundo - very nice snack, plus okra fries - tasty, and I opted for the chole puri which was delicious!
Staff were lovely, they offered umbrellas too. Lovely atmosphere and quick service, they just brought out food as it was ready.
Would definitely recommend it and come back again.

Amazing! - Edit
Came to Dishoom for a special occasion and wasn’t disappointed. We weren’t able to book a table as there were only two of us but we were able to walk in on a Tuesday night and were seated straight away.
Read moreThere’s a large vegan menu with some things normally vegan and others where you need to request a vegan version. When the veganised dishes came they had little flags saying “allergy” in them so you knew you’d definitely got the right dish.
Overall the food was amazing. I had the chole puri which is a spicy chick pea curry served with puri bread and sweet halwa. We also shared samosas, okra fries, greens and gunpowder potatoes. Everything was delicious and we had more than enough to take home to enjoy later.
I’ll definitely be back, I’ve got my eye on the brunch menu!
Pros: Lots of vegan options, Clearly labelled vegan dishes brought to table
