Fried Fried Fried - Edit
I ordered the popcorn chicken with crispy fried pickles and fried cauliflower bites. The chicken had a good consistency and seasoning. I liked the cauliflower, but would have preferred it unfried so that it would add something healthful to the meal. I enjoyed everything, but it was too much fried food for my sensitive stomach.

Gotta Go Back for More - Edit
Finally made it to Dirty Lettuce! So glad we did! I never knew southern comfort food could be so good vegan. The breading on the fried "chicken" was amazing, and the texture was great. Had the mashed potatoes and collard greens as sides, both very delicious. My husband had the cole slaw and mac and cheese, also very delicious. The mac and cheese had a little bit of a kick to it. The staff was friendly. Service was fast. There's limited seating. Want to go back to try everything else on the menu!

Absolutely incredible - Edit
Found this place when I was looking for a vegan restaurant in this area. So glad I did! The food was amazing. The texture of the "meets" (as they call them) was unreal. The fried chicken was light yet crispy. The ribs were nicely charred. I liked that they were made out of homemade seitan rather than some commercial fake meat products. For sides we went for collard greens, fried cauliflower bites, and a spinach hand pie; they were equally delicious. Staff was nice and friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back!

Food Done Right - Edit
Excellent textures and spices! Nothing obscenely complicated, just great comfort foods at reasonable prices. The little shop inside features awesome artisanal wares and fun n/a drinks. Staff loves what they do and the vibe is passed into the food they make. BBQ 'ribs' are killer hush puppies are ✨perfect! ✨

So amazing. As good as everyone says it is. Their daily specials are incredible too. Such a kind staff too!
Read moreThe location is kind of confusing, you order at the back of the shop at the counter. Shop is also filled with amazing vegan food and local artists work! Such an amazing spot, I’ll definitely be back. I’m so happy that such specific cuisine is in Portland!
Pros: Vegan menu!, Kind staff , Black owned!
Cons: No pieces on their menu

Fantastic Southern Fare - Edit
My husband and I shared bbq popcorn chicken with infamous bowl and Mac salad, and ‘gator’ bites (this was plenty for the two of us). Extremely flavorful and the mock meats had great texture. Highly recommend!

My husband loves the catfish. I love the chicken. The meet pies are glorious. They only thing that want a huge hit with my family was the mac’n cheese. Give this place a try, it’s so worth it!!

Out of this World - Edit
This food was incredible. Also, the employee at the register was very kind and friendly. We ordered a plate with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and Mac n cheese as well as a plate with ribs, cauliflower bites, and the spinach pie. We also ordered a large infamous bowl. Everything was incredible. We were accidentally given 2 sides of Mac n cheese but I brought it to their attention and they immediately came out with the correct side of mashed potatoes. Textures and flavors were on point and food was just incredible.

OMG!!!!! - Edit
I have eaten vegan food all over the world, and this is, hands down, the best vegan food I have ever eaten! I've wanted to try the different kinds of "fish," but the fried chick'n is so great that I can't break that habit. One of the best things on the menu is the Impossible bowl. It is filling, delicious, and very cheap. The barbecue is also fantastic...but everything is excellent.
Read moreThe one and the only complaint that I have is that I have ordered food to be delivered and have paid for drinks 4 times that weren't delivered. Just an oversight on their part, but an expensive one. The staff is very friendly there, and I recommend the place as highly as one can recommend anything. It is amazing food!
Pros: The fried chicken, Mashed potatoes and Gravy, Barbecue sauce on ANYTHING!!!
Cons: They didn't send the drinks I paid for 4 times, Not a very comfortable environment - tiny, Tiny, tiny...

We got the catfish platter (which came with Cajun fries, Cajun mac and cheese, and coleslaw); BBQ ribs; corn bread; popcorn chicken; pickle chips; and collard greens. Everything was freshly prepared, perfectly seasoned, and so darn good. Can’t wait to come back.

Wow - Edit
Everything I have tried here is delicious. The fried chicken is so perfectly crisp and flavorful. Their sauces are amazing too. The fried pickles are very tasty. My only complaint is everything is quite greasy, which is to be expected, but it's hard to go often because of this.

Unique options, filling, delicious - Edit
Lots of unique options that are hard to find other places. The food was delicious and hit the spot for what we were looking for. Outdoor seating only (for now) so dress for the weather. They also have a little fridge with some treats from other local vegan places so it can be a one-stop-shop for your vegan junk food fix if you are in a hurry through town.

Yum - Edit
The fried chicken plate delivered exactly what the description stated. Excellent flavor, excellent texture, sides amazing pairing! Best “fried chicken” replicant I’ve had to date, it’s all in the breading I feel. Just great all around southern comfort food. Fried pickles on the greasy side, BUT, still great side. Mashed potatoes had EXCEPTIONAL flavoring!
