Fun Hot Dog Joint - Edit
Is it truly necessary to put all those toppings on a hot dog? Probably not. But it is pretty fun. I loved that they had a ton of vegan options and we especially enjoyed the pretzel bites and fries. Plus, any place with a good root beer on tap gets points from me. Staff was friendly and warm.

I went here all the time when I was vegetarian and when I switched to vegan I was very happy to find out that there are so many vegan options too! My favs are the totcho dog and the cbj (Columbus blue jackets but also cheese bacon jalapeño).

Dirty Frank's used to be my absolute favorite restaurant when I was vegetarian, and it's still amazing as a vegan! The fact that they have vegan alternative cheddar, cheese sauce, and Coney sauce makes me so happy - over half of their specialty dogs can be made vegan! They're so accommodating and knowledgeable about different dietary considerations. And this location is right next to the arcade bar 16 Bit, so it makes for a fun night out!

Went here with some friends while visiting town; hadn't been since college, so it was fun to check out their vegan options. Looks like the menu had quite a few clearly labeled dogs that can be veganized without any issues, but I just stuck with the Chicago dog.

This place is delicious—so much so that I sought it out when passing through Columbus based on a memorable experience from the last in time I was in town four years ago. This time, I ordered two hot dogs and asked for them to be made vegan. They subbed the dogs for the vegan version but not the toppings 😫. Err on the side of specificity when placing your order at this yummy spot.

Love D Franks. You can make almost anything vegan and it’s so affordable. Only thing is this strip of restaurants has gotten progressively harsh as far as crowd/energy over the years — not for the feint of heart (or people who don’t like waiting). Was better when you could depend on it being open late, but flip side, wasn’t really the best for the workers getting off work so late in the area.

I ordered the chili dog (vegan), so it comes with a vegan dog, vegan chili meat, and vegan cheese. They for some reason used a real hot dog, but vegan items for everything else. Please DOUBLE CHECK that you get what you ordered!!! This was the first time I ate meat in years and I’m extremely disappointed.

Dirty Frank's vegan eats are so good that we chose to eat here before having our first child! The vegan brat with the Ohio corn relish with fried leeks is always delicious. The food also comes out super fast. It is crazy reasonably priced, too.

So many options, vegan, veggie & omni, that it makes your head spin. First pick your dog - hot dog, brat or polish sausage (all available in vegan version!) And then choose from dozens of toppings or one of their pre-selected combos (vegan ones marked with a heart, veggie with a leaf). There are so many, it's hard to decide. I would have never put cream cheese on a hot dog, but selected the vegan Original Onion upon their recommendation with cream cheese, scallions & onion. Now I crave them. Other toppings that are available in vegan versions are a cheese sauce, bacon bits & coney sauce (chili) in addition to lots of traditional toppings (relish, jalapenos, tomato, onion), french fries, tater tots, baked beans & crushed potato chips (yes, all hot dog toppings!).

I was surprised to find so many vegan and veg options on their menu - I tried the vegan polish sausage with veggie chilli vegan cheese veggie back and mustard and it was so good! The vegan bread is very soft and fresh. Perfect late night bites.

First of all, vegan hot dogs here and they have their own vegan dog guy who makes these and they buy them from him. I got the classy lady vegan dog that gets topped with vegan cheese sauce and potato chips pn a poppy seed bun and I must say I was not dissapointed. The service was really great as well. If i lived closer I would go here at least once a week. It was worth the 2 hour drive though.

It is my monthly must to make the 40 minute trip to Dirty Frank’s. Their Chicago dog (mentioned as one of PETA’s best vegan hot dogs in The United States) is something I dream about. Ps.Make sure you get a side of tater tots you will not be disappointed!

5 stars for the food and vegan options but 3 stars for the overly dark lighting. I went at 8pm, I have 20/20 vision and it was so dark inside I literally couldn’t see the ingredients. But the vegan options....wonderful and abundant. I’ll go back in the day next time.

I ordered a hotdog and a bratwurst. They both kind of tasted the same. Didn’t have a hotdog or bratwurst flavor but they weren’t bad. I loved the variety, I actually wanted one of everything. The atmosphere was fun.
