Serves meat, vegan options available. Sources fresh produce from local farmers in Shimoda. Owner/chef knows what vegan means and will create a vegan set meal caled a vegan plate with 1-2 hours notice. Free parking available across the road (may need to ask the restaurant staff for specific directions to the parking lot). Open Mon-Fri 11:30am-3:00pm, Mon-Sat 5:30pm-11:00pm. Closed Sun.

Terrible experience. Don't waste your time going there. - Edit
Went there with friends, we were served more than one hour after we arrived and were completely ignored by the waiters.

There were soggy cheese tortilla chips, fishy taste tofu and the sauted veggies sauce tasted like meat sauce. Overall, very salty and poorly seasoned, i could not finish my plate.
Cons: We waited 30 minutes just to get our order taken, Food was awful and probably not vegan at all , Staff was not so polite ...

Delicious & Great value for money - Edit
The Vegan Plate was absolutely delicious. There were so many thoughtful elements to the set meal - lots of different flavours and textures - we didn't know what to expect when we ordered it, so it was such a wonderful surprise to be presented with a beautiful, healthy, tasty meal! It only cost us 1,100 yen each, which we couldn't believe considering all the work that went into making it.
Read moreWe had a long chat with the chef (who is also the owner) after the meal and he assured us that everything in the Vegan Plate is vegan and made from scratch. We specifically asked if there's any fish, meat, dairy or egg in the meal and he said no. It was clear he understood what "vegan" means. He also emphasised that the fresh produce is locally sourced which was wonderful to hear.
We've lived in Shimoda for 4 years and unfortunately, there aren't many vegan options in the small town. We wanted to eat out on short notice and called two other restaurants who say they have vegan dishes - they needed 1-3 DAYS advance notice. Dining＆Bar Naminami only needed one hour's notice to prepare our meal so we couldn't believe our luck. We left the restaurant happy and full😄
The customer service was friendly and great. The restaurant has a cute Hawaiian theme and it was cozy and warm inside (despite being a cold winter day outside!). We'll definitely be back to order the vegan plate!
Note: Make sure you call in advance and ask for the "Vegan Plate". Give them at least 1 hour's notice.
Pros: Tasty food, generous portion, Excellent value for money, Free parking
Cons: We had to ask where to park (it wasn't clear)
