Pure veg Indian restaurant that serves South Indian, Chinese, and Thai dishes. Open Mon-Thu 12:00pm-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 12:00pm-10:00pm, Sun 12:00pm-9:30pm.
On a busy Saturday night, I called ahead to order takeout samosas, dosas, and utthapum - and requested that everything be made vegan. About 10 minutes later, they called me back and said that almost all the Indian dishes have butter and cannot be made without butter. They said if I wanted no butter, I should order the Indo-Chinese or Indo-Thai dishes. We ordered samosas (vegan), Thai rice, Gobi Manchurian, and veg Manchurian. I arrived 20 minutes after I first placed my order (10 minutes after I had to change my order) and they asked me what I ordered. I told him and he wrote it down in his order pad, as if he was just putting the order in for the first time. Based on what happened next, I suspect he was putting my order in for the first time.
He said the food would be ready in 10 minutes. I sat and waited 20 minutes before I asked about my food, and while I was waiting the people at the next table complained to the waiter that they didn’t have their food yet. My whole order was finally ready 25 minutes after I arrived.
The gobi Manchurian (fried, battered cauliflower florets in a spicy sweet sauce) and veg Manchurian (mashed vegetables formed into balls and fried, in a spicy sweet sauce) and Thai rice (basmati rice with carrots, tomato, onion, and shredded raw cabbage) were all delicious. It was all spicy, so it might be too spicy for some people. Everything was just a little too spicy for me. The samosas were disappointing because they were cold in the middle. After I microwaved them, they were pretty good.
On the plus side, I’m glad they let me know about the butter, but it’s disappointing that most of the menu cannot be made vegan.
Nothing fancy, but food that has lots of flavor and good spice without being crazy hit. Great prices. Menu has some Indian, some Thai, and some Himalayan dishes. I told my waiter that I was vegan and someone came out from the kitchen and told me all the dishes that were vegan or that could be made vegan.
