had a bad experience but nice ambiance - Edit
I've been here only once and all I tried was the scambled tofu, which I sadly didn't enjoy at all. It wasn't that yummy, had too many onions for my taste and was so oily that it was a mess to eat and all over my bread which was also strangely hard on that day. However I have heard a lot of positive things about this café, so I'm hopeful that once I return to try their pancakes and cakes I will have a much better experience. Also the ambiance is very pretty and cozy, it's especially nice to sit outside under the green.

They very super friendly and relaxed. The food was delicious and at a rainy day we had luck to get one of the beautiful tables at the inside.

Pause is a cute café in the old town in Marburg. They have a nice seating area outside but also inside it’s very nice and comfortable. We were there for breakfast, they have many vegan options to choose from. We tried homemade bread buns, homemade spreads, tofu crumble and pancakes, all were very good! The service was very nice and helpful. They offer also vegan options for lunch and cakes, so we will definitely come back and try something else.

Es war ein spontaner Besuch, als wir gerade in Marburg waren. Es war gut besucht, aber wir hatten Glück einen Platz zu ergattern. Es war so lecker und eine tolle entspannte Stimmung, dass wir spontan 2,5 - 3 h blieben. Das Lokal ist in einem kleinen alten Fachwerkhaus direkt neben einer Treppe. Ein paar Tische mit Ausblick gibt es auch.

This cute little bistro feels straight out of a novel. It looks like an house out of the middle ages but with a modern, relaxed and chill vibe. We had the sweetest waitress that placed me and my fiance near a window with a view (because she thought it would be more romantic for us, so cute 🥰). At first we wanted hot chocolate to warm up after a long walk through the city and its no problem to do with vegan milk.
Read moreAfter that we ordered food, which was great and very tasty. We planned to have dinner there even though it's more a lunch oriented place. So the portions could be a bit small if you're hungry/ a big eater. We ordered one of the vegan cakes as desserts so to us it was perfect.
In between the ordering and receiving the food we played a game of chess with our own travel chess board. One of the other costumers wanted to play put changed his mind once he knew it wasn't a chess game from Die Pvause. So tip to the management could be to get a chessboard 😄
We had a lovely time with great food and lovely people what else could you wish for 🙏🏻
Pros: Vegan is well-known and Staff is super friendly, View is great with good weather , Food is very tasty
Cons: Portions could be small , Tables could be to low for tall people

Ich hatte ein veganes Frühstück (Pancakes mit Obstsalat) mit einer „Golden Milk“ aus Hafermilch. Alles sehr lecker und zu empfehlen. Das war sicher nicht der letzte Besuch. Die Pause liegt in der Marburger Oberstadt und ist ein kleines Schmuckstück. #Veganuary

I'm only allowed to give four stars, but would give five if I could. This place is so cute! Very cozily furnished & decorated and a lovely view. I think it would be super nice to sit outside if the weather allows it. I had an oatmilk cappuccino which was really nice, and the waitress gave me a glass of water without having to ask for it, which I was very thankful for! I wasn't hungry so didn't order any food, but there were quite some vegan options which sounded great.

We had some lovely iced coffee with almond milk and we tried all 3 vegan cakes and they were amazing! Staff was really friendly but it can be very busy so pick a time when not everybody else in Marburg needs a break. ;)

It is really nice to sit outside. They have drinks, snacks and some other dishes. There was one vegan cake. They had hot chocolate with oat milk for 3,60 which was a bit expensive but nice.

Seating inside and outside. The interior is very cute and everything is made with love. The concept of the place is awesome. Most things are sourced locally and if they aren't, they make sure to be as involved in the production process as possible.

Super nice location in small side street in "upper" old part of town ("Oberstadt") in very nice inner city area. Serious vegan options (cake, hearty food). Freshly made, with love. Should get exception for five-star-rating.
Read moreNo smell of meat in café at all. Friendly staff. Excellent taste of all I tried (= a lot ;)) including vegan pancakes, soup, potato wedges, apple cake, coffee. Lotsa lemonades (not homemade but excellent & 'bio').
