Nice Indian vegan buffet

There seemed to be only one person working when I showed up not too long before they closed. She was very warm and friendly. I enjoyed most of the items from the buffet. The atmosphere was comfortable.

Tasty but cold

Though the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was cold and a little bland. There is a large variety of options; rice, sauces, noodles, loempias, sushi, spring rolls, .....

Pros: Large variety of food, Friendly and helpful staff

Cons: Cold food, Bland taste

Ok

The food was okay. Reasonably priced and lots of choice, however some food had clearly been left out for ages and had gone hard/ cold. OK for a quick, cheap dinner.

One star

OK so I'm not trying to be funny. But I've never felt more depressed than sitting at a Dhaba Beas in Prague. The food hurt my stomach and I had diarrhoea afterwards. Some of it tasted OK at the time I guess. It's not even really that cheap either (especially if they get you with the extras like the samosas, which were one of the only things that helped me retain my sanity in that place). There are so many of them in the city, it's like a scary institution/cult - also for some unknown reason, we went there twice and in both locations it was disturbingly bright, depressingly quiet and we were bamboozled by the dichotomy between the boujee, hipster/IKEA minamilist style furnishings and design of the restaurant and the cold slop we were served. Look honestly it would probably be better if you came earlier in the day but we came at approx 7pm both times and it was downright upsetting. Wouldn't recommend unless you wish yourself ill.

Decent varied buffet - watch out for the extra charges

I enjoyed the buffet here. As a lacto-ovo vegetarian I found there was a good range of options. Some meat substitute but also plenty that was focused on vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the Vietnamese summer rolls and a palačinky to finish my meal.

Watch out for the extra charges for some items. I got hit hard with these (there are signs, but they are small and not very obvious). There is a lovely courtyard with trees at the back, and they had a highchair for the baby.

Pros: Variety of tasty Indian vegetarian food, Highchair for baby

Cons: Extra charges for some (many!) items

Viele vegane Optionen

Pros: Viele vegane Optionen

Cons: Schlechte Kennzeichnung, Zum Teil nur lauwarme Speisen

Dhaba Beas is always reliable

Every Dhaba in the city is pretty reliable. Same (good) food. Don't make the mistake of packing on some of the foods as they are pay by piece and not weight. It can be deceiving. 40% off at 7pm. Theres a nice cozy outdoor eating place. The cafe right next door has vegan cafe foods/cakes/coffees. The cafe is NOT 40% off though never. Also it uses reusable plates and silverware

Pros: good food, 40% off at 7pm makes it pretty cheap, cafe next door

Cons: some of food is pay by piece

A nice rest stop in a walkable city.

Purchase by weight, this is tasty fare for the weary traveler and locals alike.

A lot of choices

Good food but there are a lot of people because their restaurants are located next to offices.

Pros: Vegan Options

Cons: A lot of people on a small space

Food is ok, but it`s a bit messy

It can be good sometimes, but I saw a few times that the food is served in a really messy way.

I am not a big fan of this place as it looks that they care more about how to make more money and don`t provide good service for what they ask customers to pay..

Pros: dirty, messy

Loads of choice

Amazing to be able to go into a restaurant and just load up a plate with anything that looks tasty. The pricing structure was slightly strange, mostly by weight but with some items charged extra. Overall though great value for as much food as I could eat. Particularly recommend the tofu and veg curry, potato rosti, and pilau rice.

Pros: Loads of choice, all veggie

Cons: Slightly confusing price structure, Some dishes a bit cold

Lots of vegan options to try

My partner and I did the lunch buffet and it was packed with vegan items (marked with a white flower on the label). We had a great time trying everything and we both particularly liked the deep fried vegan protein in sweet and sour sauce.

There is lots of seating inside and there is outdoor seating in the back yard, which is really nice. It was a bit difficult to see exactly which items were vegan because the labels were sometimes not exactly aligned with the dishes.

Pros: lots of options, good food, outdoor seating

Cons: labelling not always clear

Acceptable

Staff didn't speak English and wasn't very friendly. Food was okay, not bad, but a bit cold and nothing special. Maybe it's the time I got there, close to 8pm.

Soo Good!

This place was so great! the Vegetarian Bhaba Beas is all veggie, signs tell you if it's gluten-free or vegan. It's easy to do, just choose what you want and you can have just a tiny bit if you just want to try it. It's really healthy too with sprouts and spicy kim chi!

Great indian food!

Indian food is one of my favorites so trying this restaurant was an easy choice. The food is infront of you, you just pick whatever you want, people weight it afterwards and you pay for grams of food. I love how they use different seasonings, everything tastes interesting and amazing and it doesn't matter if it's rice or tofu. Also you have a free water and smiles everywhere you look, always nice people when i visit.

Exactly what you'd expect!

After a long day of walking around town, I initially just wanted to head to my hostel and chill for a bit before searching out dinner...but then I realised that that would probably require more work than just heading in whilst in the area, so I walked back the block I'd passed whilst making up my mind and popped in.

Being a buffet-style, pay-by-weight-style of eatery, you'd think the concept would be pretty straightforward: get a metal tray, fill as you desire, weigh, pay, happy day. It is, really, but only if you either know Czech or had read (and, importantly, remembered) the reviews online beforehand and knew that you're not meant to put the soups in the tray itself, as they're measured by bowl size instead. My luck being what it is, I recalled this just before going to pay, which allowed me to (very awkwardly) save an awkward encounter by ladling the soup into a bowl and covering up the rest with something else. (Phew.)

Once you've paid your delightfully cheap sum and are seated, though, you'll find that everything is great, if not predictably a wee bit on the tame side spice-wise. Plus, there's a jug of free water on every table - a welcome sight after having spent the day fruitlessly searching the city for a water fountain to fill up your bottle (and having had to pay for some at a restaurant the night before where your meal was 2.5x the price).

Overall, I was well pleased with my experience and would love to see a chain like this come to Vienna.

Pros: Only YOU can decide what & how much you eat, Great value, Free water, Gotta' love those metal trays!

Cons: No English to be seen (could also be a pro...), Instructions not clear unless you can read Czech

Great Indian food

Dhaba beas is a canteen style indian restaurant for both vegans and vegetarians. I love this place because prices are very low and they always mark what type of food it is (vegan or vegetarian) as well as add ingredients next to description. Place itself is very comfortable, staff - very friendly and food is amazingly tasty. Recommended for everyone!

Pros: cheap, wide vegan options, wide vegetarian options

Excellent Self-Serve Veggie Fare

This excellent restaurant was recommended to us by our bike tour guide Adam. It has a prime location-right outside the spinning Kafka head by David Cerny. It is self-serve with lots of great Indian options to choose from and an ample salad bar. Highly recommend the lassis. In a city with limited veggie options, this is perfect for solo travelers, couples and families.

Great deal, esp during happy hour!

There are about 7 of these in Prague, we went to the one near the powder tower and the huge silver statue of Kaftka's head... you'll know what I mean.

Food was delicious! I kinda wish it was just a single price for unlimited buffet but the happy hour bargain is great, although of course the buffet isn't all stocked at that time.

Great indian food, my non-veg friend loved it too!

Pros: happy hour, indian food, many locations

Good Indian Food.

We went to 2 outlets. Both were good. Seems food is made in a central location. We met one of the chefs. They are from India. From the north and south. Had excellent dosa also.

Pros: Good Food . Clean. Good Atmosphere

Cons: Does Not Accept Euros Or Cards.
