Serves meat, vegan options available. In Ethiopian cuisine the vegetable dishes are usually vegan. Open Mon-Thu 9:30am-1:00am, Fri-Sat 9:30am-3:00am, Sun 9:30am-1:00am.
I love Ethiopian food so I wanted to try this place since it’s close to where I live. Service was ok and building conditions weren’t great, but staff was friendly. Food was ok. Not terrible, but not great. Would only go back out of convenience.
I love Ethiopian food, and I am so happy it’s pretty vegan friendly.
I’ve eaten at Dessie and have not been super impressed but also not disappointed. The biggest issue for me is location- it’s kind of annoying to get here, so, I tend to go further into Silver Spring near downtown for Ethiopian food.
That being said, get your classic vegan sampler of delicious wots and vegetables with rich seasonings and tons of injera. You’ll leave feeling full of course!
The food is good. The people are nice. The ambiance leaves something to be desired.
I get the vegetable combination to go. It is a healthy portion that typically feeds me three times! The flavors are delicious. Good kik alicha, good miser wit, dinch wot is delicious too. My only gripe is that even when I call in the order in advance, it’s still a 20 minute wait once I get there!
Stumbled onto this place online while looking for somewhere to get some Ethiopian food. Great veggie dishes and I loved the room. Felt like eating a home cooked Ethiopian meal. Highly recommend.
