cosy personal alternative place

Very friendly owner operated small Bistro.
The house made pizza-bread was very tasty.
And the salad really fresh.
He asks & advise for all the available meals and options..
Most of the things are self made with passion in house...

Pros: friendy stuff, delisious fresh food, fair priced

Cons: older inventory

A very cosy place with good food

The place is very homey, not like your usual restaurant. The staff is very friendly and are very open for serving you food just as you like it.

I got bratkartoffeln (very tasty fried potatoes), mushrooms and a salad on the side. It was a bit more oily for my taste, but these type of foods are served with a lot of oil. The chef also offered vegan pizza as an option, however, that is doable to eat in almost any pizzeria, so I opted for a more-German meal.

I would recommend the place, if you just want to get away from the crowd and relax with some good food.

Pros: Tasty food, very friendly staff, not in a busy street

Not fancy, plain & simple

Friendly, small place located at busy traffic road. Tram stop from / to main train station around the corner. Simple dishes; very good, plain apple and plum crumble cake; salad. No hipster smoothies, no super foods, but good old juice mixes. Several vegan options, gladly without garlic. Four seats outside, more inside. Close to inner city. Closes early, i.e., no dinner.

Interesting place

I went there for an early lunch today. They a different starter/main option every day and a number of staples, plus cakes and cookies, all self-made. The place feels like a throwback to earlier (vegetarian) times in terms of foods - the dishes have that home-made flair that I might also have been able to get my (late) grandma to make for me, in slightly odd combinations: today, it was Serbian Bean Soup and an Asian-inspired rice with peanut sauce. But there is certainly a place for this kind of fare in Braunschweig, especially given that it's (almost) the only game in town, certainly for lunch. Also offers a lunch delivery service.
The food itself was fine, if not exactly refined. Not your regular vegan yuppie hangout. Family-run. Almost all dishes vegan and clearly labelled.

Pros: Cheap, food is clearly edible, vast majority vegan and clearly labelled

Nice, simple, inexpensive

Nice simple vegetarian cafe with a simple daily menu. Vegan components are labelled, non-vegan dishes can be veganized on request. Strong local influence - they often serve veggie adaptions of traditional German dishes, like stews or soups (e,g, the famous "Hochzeitssuppe" or "Wedding soup").

Pros: good + inexpensive food

Cons: not too many options
