Fresh, healthy and delicious - Edit
Soto and nasi rawon are incredible! A lovely, clean spacious resto, easy to find with good signage. The beautiful chef Ling Ling is a master of vegan cuisine and a delightful host. A must try for vegans and not-yet vegans in Jogja!

I lucked out and had this place just 500m from my hostel (I really should plan in advance) so went their for dinner on my first night in Jogja. The staff were incredibly friendly and food came out quick. They have a great selection, it's very affordable and was absolutely delicious. Before leaving I had a chocolate vegan ice cream which absolutely knocked my socks off.
Read moreI spoke to the owners on the way out and as a family they've been vegan for 15 years! They were such nice people and really made me appreciate how nice it is to meet local vegans in countries like Indonesia. I will without a doubt be returning here during my stay in Jogja.

We found randomly this place and give it a try. It was definitely the best choice ever. It’s a local vegan place with really tasty and original food and extremely cheap. They have different kinds of vegan “meat” and also the best vegan icecreams I’ve ever tried. You must come here if you pass by Yogya

I’d really like to write positive things about “Depot Veggie” because the owners are very nice. But I didn’t really like half of the food I tried. I had the Nasi Campur, which is a mixture of dishes they offer. The only thing I thoroughly enjoyed was the “Meat balls”. If I had been more hungry – the ice-cream on offer really looked delicious. Depot Veggie is a simple place and the food is very cheap.

this was an exceptional experience. very friendly couple and three lovely dogs. i had mixed rice, which consisted of white rice plus several small portions of tasty vegetable plus tempeh and a soup. i followed up with a plateful of papaya! yum! there were plenty of things on the menu and i shall be back to try more! very reasonable price. my main was exactly £1 at today's rate (IDR18000) - super stuff. great place! and they were playing the bee gees when i arrived! love the bee gees!!!!

Sate - not saucy, but flavoursome. It was some type of fake meat (seitan?) which was a really good texture
Capcay - veg stir fry with nice flavour
Gemblong - Doughy dumplings with a sweet, slightly sticky coating (Nicer than I've made them sound!) Good with the spicy salty other food
Also a few different ice creams available. Cinnamon caramel swirl was delicious!!

On arrival my partner and I where greeted by such friendly hospitality and kindness. The menu was small but filled with delicious ( all vegan ) options. The meals where absolutely tasty and cooked with love. We walked away so satisfied from this dinner experience. The ice cream was also a nice way to end an already great meal. Recommend if you are in the area to try this little gem!!

Best vegan food in yogja - Edit
The owners of depot veggie are the kindest people offering beautiful homemade food. Everything we had was delicious and so cheap. They also let us come out the back and pat all their dogs (also their tiny puppy) felt like home would recommend to anyone who’s in town, their menu is small but all you could need.

This is a great casual place for a nice inexpensive meal. The menu is 100% vegan and the prices are very reasonable. Great place to try vegan versions of many local dishes. The owner is so kind and welcoming. They had a couple flavors of vegan ice cream if you need a cold sweet treat.

We came for the bakso, stayed for the gelato. Finally got to try Javanese soups, both Bakso & Soto were really nice. Also tried the yummy tempura nuggets, got juices, and finished with espresso stracciatella (with chocolate pieces throughout) gelato, all terrific, and totaling a mere 87k. The couple who run it are very cute and gracious, chatting with us and laughing so much! Will be back to keep sampling everything.

There was two of us and we ordered 4 dishes between us (hehe we like to eat) and drinks and it was absolutely amazing!!! The staff was so friendly and helpful and the food was beyond delicious

The only thing I wouldn’t recommend was the nasi rawan as it tasted quite strange to me
Other than that would definitely recommend :)

One of the few vegan places in the centre of Yogyakarta which offers all vegan food at an amazing price! Not giving five stars as the menu is quite small, and I have had better food. But for the price, I really can’t complain! The owner is also lovely😄

I was pleasantly surprised by the owners hospitality. Very warm and kind couple. The food was not really special and seemed pretty basic. I did find the portion rather small, even though the prices were around 15-20k. We ordered the 'meatballs' and the 'koloke'. Nothing out of the ordinary but still okay. Other reviews seem to mention great dishes, so we are going back once more to try the satay.

Nice little place with a really lovely family running it! They are long time vegans and very passionate. We went twice and on the second occasion the wife (can't remember her name!) brought us out their brand new puppy to introduce him to us. So cute!
