Delicious treats - Edit
This place is perfect for some beauty, wholesome and tasty food. I got the orange scone which was heavenly and one of their sandwiches toasted (mushrooms, pumpkin, vegan cheese, olive and pesto), which was the perfect mix of flavors. One of the best sandwiches and scones I've had since being vegan. Seems plain but does not disappoint

Not a vegan/vegitarian Cafe anymore - Edit
Only 1 vegan option, and it wasn't good, the tofu really chewy, unbalance flavors, and hard to eat. There are a lot better options in Wellington if you are vegan or vegitarian.

Cool place - Edit
Spinach carrot spice muffin. Such a delight to have something original! Oat mocha was excellent as well. Definitely will be back to check out their other options.

Cute cafe - Edit
I love this little cafe, so many tasty vegan treats which I believe are made fresh daily. Majority of the cabinet food is vegan, best vegan bakewell tart I've ever eaten!

Cute little hole in the wall - Edit
Had a great coffee - they were low on vegan options as they had already sold out when I arrived around 13:00. Suppose that’s a good sign :) and the vegan potato salad they did have left, was delicious.

This cafe has a great vibe. They make great coffee, only cabinet food available but they always seem to have at least one sweet and one savoury vegan option =)

Delicious vegan options in downtown Wellington - Edit
This cafe has great vegan options. We tired the vegan polenta pizzas and the vegan sushi. Coffee and soy chai also very good. Highly recommended!

Several vegan meals and treats - Edit
Small café with several vegan items. I would like to try them all. I had a white bean ball with pesto, served with chutney and/or salsa for $8.60. Good.

Best Vegan Cupcake - Edit
Oh goodness, the cupcake (I think the flavor was blood orange) I had was out of the world. It is in a small, cozy store which has a quaint charm to it. Give this place a visit when you're in town.

Consistent and funky - Edit
Do coffee on soy or rice milk - always good - plus the BEST chai in Wellington (Phoenix Organics Chai Loka).
Read moreCounter food only, BUT:
Always have vegan sweets, including amazing monster cupcakes.
Always have vegan tempeh wrap (my favourite), vegan brown rice/tofu sushi (my second favourite), a savoury ball (usually vegan), and salads, bakes etc (sometimes vegan).
However, the food is prepared in the morning, and not topped up during the day - so if you come in the afternoon, the vegan items may all be sold out.
Order and pay at the counter, and only one person making coffee and serving sometimes, so you might need to wait a bit. No table service. It's pretty small, so you might need to sit outside on the pavement (which can be cold in winter and noisy from traffic) or if you're unlucky you might not get a table at all.
Definitely worth a try. I dream of the cupcakes.
Pros: Cupcakes!, Tempeh roll!, Sushi!
Cons: Small, Slow service

Great Ambiance - Edit
Although a small place, they have a groovy ambiance, good food selection and quality coffee - perfect for a quick snack or lunch. The salad was always good as well as the savory balls. And of course the desserts -Â they always had some gluten free and/or vegan options. Went back there twice and was never disappointed. It was nice to get a good value healthy meal while sitting in the middle of Wellington's hip crowd and reading local newspapers.

awesome food but get in quick - Edit
Deluxe has a similar vibe to Midnight Espresso on Cuba st - a bit grungey, long-standing and veg friendly. However, Deluxe feels a lot less homely and one is much less likely to linger there after getting something to eat. However, they have some delish food. Number one for me has got to be the huge vegan cupcakes, which come in fun flavours (e.g. lime and passionfruit, coconut and blueberry...) drowning in icing, yum yum yum. On the healthier side of things, they always have an awesome vegan salad and I'm a fan of their veg+tofu sushi rolls. However, make sure you get in early as they don't seem to replenish their food over the day. Plus, the baker makes the cupcakes for the next day in the evening and wouldn't bend the rules to let me order one early, despite the rest of the food being nearly cleared out :(

Good central Wellington option - Edit
Small cafe. Has no kitchen so is limited to counter food. They are associated with midnight espresso so counter food is similar. Usually has two or three vegan savoury options and sometimes vegan cake or muffins. Great coffee!
Read moreTheir rice balls/rice cake are really filling and the tempeh salad wraps are also quite substantial. We will go here for a bite to eat if we are at that end of Courtney Place. Otherwise tend to go to Midnight Espresso judt because there is more choice at the latter.
