Good basic food - Edit
As of August 2024, the meal of the day costs 10,000 pesos. The day I went, the meal included a bowl of corn soup and then the main plate with several items. There was also a Juice drink. I found the food to be tasty and very nutritious. They have a tortoise that sometimes wanders around the interior of the restaurant. If you don't see him, ask them to bring him out!

Delicious, cheap, and big portions. Daily menu with soup and a drink combo was $10,000pesos. The owner is a lovely woman who has been vegetarian “since (she) was young”. She does the service and her son I think does the cooking. They’ve been open for years and the place is also an animal shelter/rescue!
Read moreThey rescued some cats which come and go as they please, one bird who is free sometimes and sometimes protected from the cats in a cage (I guess he was attacked before and also claws at their eyes), 2 dogs, and a tortoise from the area of Bogotá rescued from the markets where he was almost eaten and his shell is still cracked from where he was hit. They’re quite a lovely place and the only non vegan thing was they put honey in the drinks, but could make it without.
In Colombia, some places have a chain at the front. They’re still open. I asked them why and they say they put it to ward off “people coming in from the street who bother the guests and sometimes try to take food from their plates without asking”. So don’t be deterred. Go on in!

Haha yes, totally. Pesos start in the hundreds so 4,000 is about $1 USD. The soup, meal, and drink are just over $2 usd. 🤗

Cheap lunch - Edit
Had the menu of the day which came with a good soup (option of two soups), a main plate, juice and a small desert. We arrived around 2pm and were the only ones there. The food and service was good enough to warrant returning.
