Gem in the Jungle

Found this spot on my way to El Yunque. They made me a custom green smoothie and it was great. Everything was super fresh. I will go back to try some.of the food.

Great food and smoothies

Delicious food and smoothies, great space. Not a ton of vegan options in the area, so was awesome to find.

Great food, drinks, and atmosphere

We stumbled across this place after a few hours in El Yunque (very close by), and it was such a great find! There is a great array of refreshing smoothies that are perfect for a hot day. Their empanadas are excellent as well; they’re filled with pumpkin and beans and are not super fried and greasy like some standard empanadas. The staff was also very friendly! An overall hit.

PBWF in PR

This place was a hit with myself (vegan) and two vegan kids (20 and 15 years), and my carnivore husband. After traveling the day before we needed some fresh good food. This hit the spot. The menu is 2 parts: “Farmacia” which is essentially smoothies, smoothie bowls, juices/shots, and then they have a small menu of heartier food. I had a ginger shot, mango smoothie bowl, and an empanada. Husband and daughter had smoothies and an Açaí bowl, and my son had a burger, empanada, and smoothie. We all left happy , full, and feeling nice and detoxed. Going back tomorrow! Please note they are WFPB essentially , not vegans, so they do have honey or bee pollen in a couple of dishes, clearly marked. I asked them to not add honey/bee pollen to my mango smoothie bowl which they accommodated with no problem.
Update : We went back the next day. I had the exact same thing as the day before: ginger shot, mango magnifico bowl topped with PB, black berries, and chia seeds (I got an “extra” topping since they held the honey/bee pollen for me. My son had two burgers, an empanada, and 2 funky monkey smoothies. Daughter had the coqui verde smoothie and a burger. I had a taste of the burger and it was delicious. Staff is so kind and patient!

Chill vibes

Empanada was incredible. Smoothie was watered down. Prefer frozen bananas instead of ice. Wouldn’t recommend for those with a peanut/nut allergy, although they can accommodate. Very friendly staff.

Bee products such as honey & bee pollen are NOT VEGAN. This place's owners abuses bees for extra profit. NOT ETHICAL TO TREAT BEES AS A FOOD PRODUCING MACHINE INSECT. Honey & bee pollen is not food for humans. Stop consuming these products if you call yourself a "vegan". No vegan uses animal products including those made by bees.

Awesome WFPB eating!

In house made burger was absolutely full of flavor and delicious! Doesn't come with condiments because not needed. Amazing! We also had an empanada which was very tasty! And of course 2 delicious juices! We'll be back for sure!

Pros: Reasonably priced, Great outdoor seating , Fresh ingredients

Vegan Haven in PR

Great cafe and juice bar adjacent to El Yunque National Forest. Not many vegan options in this area of PR, so it's also a good stop off on the way to Luquillo or eastern part of island. Great, fresh vegan food, cute hammock patio, and very friendly staff.

Pros: Delicious food!, Great location.

Cons: Outdoor only seating

Refreshing & satisfying

So happy to have found this place! Many healthful and satiating items. My picks are the Back to Balance (turmeric) smoothie, Berry Bueno açaí bowl, and the empanadas filled with black beans, lentils, and quinoa. As some have mentioned, all ingredients are vegan except for honey and bee pollen, which are easily left out of your smoothie or bowl.

We ate here at the start of several activity-filled days, and the food kept us going for hours. Our non-vegan friend loved it too. As a bonus, Charlie, the owner, is super gregarious and will give you many tips on what to see and do!

Pros: Healthful, delicious food, Great outdoor vibe, Supports local animal rescue orgs

Great stop to or from El Yunque

Right on the main street of Palmer as you head to or from PR 3, Degree 18 is a happy, colorful and inviting place to stop. Great smoothies (some have honey in them, though so be sure to ask, they will be happy to make it without). And a few eating options too, like veggie burgers, vegan empanadas, hummus etc. Very friendly and inviting, the staff is very warm and welcoming.. Oh, and I loved the parchas (passionfruit) growing right on the fence.

Pros: Easy to find and get to, Tasty, friendly

Cons: Mostly juice and smoothies, Limited hours

Best end of hike snack

After hiking for a few hours in the morning I was ecstatic to find a vegan place nearby. My whole family decided to try their smoothie bowls (and a smoothie) and they do not disappoint! I was so hungry, I didn’t even think to take a photo before I was completely done. They are also 0 waste if you eat in!

Pros: Lots of choices , Zero waste

Cons: A little slow
