Buffet Madness - Edit
I love Indian buffet. This spot hits the spot. Great flavors. In Santa Clara I think this spot would be considered a fairly run of the mill vegetarian Indian spot, but to my Portland Indian food starved brain, it was great.

Excellent Variety of Food-Welcoming - Edit
This is a jewel of a place near Santa Clara University. So happy I found it. The day I was there it was buffet style. With Chai tea (yum) and water to drink. Though you can get soda on request. Mostly vegan but some item have dairy, so best to ask if not sure. There is for those who like spice as well as those who don’t.

Got insulted in front of everyone for asking more rotis in buffet - Edit
RUDE OWNERS INSULTED YS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE FOR ASKING REFILL. These people are such a scammers. They say it’s buffet but don’t want you to eat more. They won’t refill the food soo easily. You have to keep on ask them for chapattis. At a time you’ll get only 2 roti. If you want more they won’t even mind you next time when you’re asking for roti. When I asked them for more rotis these people started shouting at me In front of everyone saying “why do you need more rotis? Eat rice” then I said I got only 10 rotis we are 4 people that was not enough. Then the lady over there shouted at me “oh you want to eat more than 10 rotis? Oh you want more food?” Acting sarcastic in front of everyone. All the people were looking at us. Why does it matter to you how much I eat? I pay for what I eat I’m not getting free food. THEIR FOOD IS WORST AND TASTELESS AND OVERPRICED FOR 3 To 4 DISHES

Wanted to, but couldn't - Edit
I had some incorrect information: lunch buffet is six days a week (closed Tuesday), so I came and found a terribly unappealing selection of soupy, oily, cooked-to-death vegetables. It had been an hour walk from my hotel, I stood and looked, but I simply couldn't bring myself to eating.

Delicious food, and mostly vegan - Edit
The food here is great and very flavorful, and I find the food here more nutritious and less oily than in most other Indian buffets in our area. Unfortunately they don’t mark vegan dishes, but we always ask and the staff is usually knowledgeable about which dishes contain dairy. Most dishes are vegan, so it’s never a problem. The Roti bread that they serve to the table is fried with butter, but they can use vegetable oil upon demand.

Really Great Food! - Edit
We went on a Thursday night and only the buffet was open, but it was delicious! The service was friendly. I tried many things, and all were very tasty.

Simple, yet delicious, food with a lot of variety - Edit
I've been eating at Deedee's for close to 20 years. They used to be located in Mt. View, near where I lived, and were the place we'd go to whenever we didn't feel like cooking. Since moving to Santa Clara I've been going less often but still find it a treat. The buffet menu is different from any Indian restaurant I've ever been to (outside of India--never been to India). And it varies constantly, apparently rotating in dishes from different regions of India. The food is simple, but delicious. The restaurant is run by one family who take great pride in what they have produced.

Down-home Indian veg buffet - Edit
Deedee's is an Indian vegetarian (lacto-vegetarian) buffet restaurant. A la carte ordering is also available. Each weekend of the month, they specialize in the foods of a particular region of India (see their website, www.mydeedees.com, for details). This restaurant is very popular. Deedee's was located on West Middlefield Road in Mountain View from 1998 to 2008, when it moved to its current location in Santa Clara.
