These used to be really good.
I swore it was like vegan Krispy Kreme, and readily available. Now, You have to preorder the night before.
Also the donuts are dense, hard to chew, and flavorless. The new baker has not figured out how to make vegan donuts, which isn’t that hard. There are better options elsewhere.
The donuts are pretty good if you want something "store-style" as in large and fluffy. The problem is that they make 4 vegan donuts in the morning and that's it. We went on a whim and bought all 4 one morning before knowing this and were impolitely told "you should call ahead next time so that everyone else has a chance to have some too" as if it was our fault. Dough Hooks has similar donuts with a much larger selection and inventory, without the snark, and Benny's is great if you want something a little different that melts in your mouth. I'd recommend either place over this one unless you're stuck near OSU campus.
1) Vegan, gluten-free cake donuts in several flavors, which I did not try.
2) Vegan raised doughnuts with vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry glaze and sprinkles, which I don’t generally choose. HOWEVER, they were festive Halloween colors, delicious, and absolutely worth $2.50 to me.
SIDE NOTE: Do not get excited about the fancy and filled doughnuts in the case, as they are not vegan ☹️
While the latest iteration of vegan donuts have been tasty, I’ve been in several times now to there being now vegan donuts available, despite the sign out front advertising their availability. I’ve been told to call in a few hours in advance and they’ll make them.
Went to visit OSU this weekend for the first time and was looking on Happy Cow for options in the Corvallis area when I saw the reviews for this bakery, decided to give it a try. I want to re-iterate the positive reviews provided by the other previous reviewers--this place has delicious and awesome vegan donuts! The one negative I wanted to mention: there was not much of a selection when I arrived, and was told it's best to call and let them know what you need ahead of time to ensure availability.
Will be visiting this bakery again the next time I am in the area!
Great donuts with some vegan and some vegan + gluten free. - Edit
Enthusiastic about offering vegan options. Send them a message a day before on Facebook, and they’ll do their best to make any donuts on their menu vegan. Very friendly and chill place. Vegan donuts on their own shelf. Vegan gluten free in a separate small case.
The donuts were bomb dot com! Not just for "vegan donuts" but for donuts in general. I had the cinnamon twist and marionberry donuts. Hubby had the gluten free vegan chocolate and sprinkle cake donuts and loved them. They do seem to sell out quickly, but the owner is happy to make almost any donut vegan and set aside an order if you give them 24 hour notice.
These are the best vegan donuts you can find. They have cake, original, and filled donuts. They usually sell out pretty quickly so I recommend either calling to reserve some or getting there early! The owners are wonderful people that are great to have a chat with. I highly recommend Death by Donuts!!
