Amazing Vegan Indonesian food - Edit
As a vegan, its kinda difficult to eat Indonesian food. Things like rendang or smoor usually dont have a vegan option in Indonesian restaurants/take-aways. Here we can buy all the Indonesian goodness for us vegans! Also great for meat eaters to try vegan food. Even though the name says 'vegetarian' everything in the store is vegan. We've had the lemper which came with a nice sweet/light spicy sambal and the sandwich with home made satay and atjar, plus dipping sauce. It tasted amazing, you need to try this!

Read moreZo is het ook met de Vegetarische Toko. Vorig jaar kreeg ik de tip van hun neef Jens en alhoewel ik regelmatig in Den Haag ben bezocht ik hun afgelopen zondag pas. Max was super behulpzaam, gaf fijne suggesties en wat dingetje extra om te proeven. En dan het eten !!!! Ik heb geen foto's, zo lekker was het. Alles vers, alles heerlijk gekruid en niet té pittig voor mijn lieve meissie. De 'normale' maaltijd was genoeg voor bijna twee dagen en wij zijn grote eters.
Ik weer waar ik voortaan langs ga in Den Haag. 5/5

We had the “rijsttafel” here. All vegan, various dishes. Really delicious. Very friendly owners too. It’s a simple place in terms of seating: the main star is the food and the hospitality!

Delicious Indonesian food as I know it - Edit
Had an amzing rice table here! After 6 years of being vegan, I was finally able to eat amazing and extensive Indo food again! My parents, who eat meat, also enjoyed it and didn't miss any meat. We will definitely come back!

Very nice family owned place with kind people and delicious food. We were so stuffed after the large bowl but wanted to try everything. They have a daily special and this time it was roti-style potato curry which was a highlight for me. Eggless noodles were also great!

Satay skewer is essential - Edit
The satay skewer was out of this world. My omni boyfriend (very hard to please with meat substitutes) said it was the best fake meat he’s ever had. We both got large bowls and they were massive portions, and super tasty. The restaurant was on a lovely street and the guy working there was super lovely. Big recs for this one!

Heel veel keuze, allemaal vegan. Erg ruime portie, een ruime selectie verschillende gerechten. Vegan kroepoek en satésaus, mini loempia, saté stokjes, groentes. Echt een aanrader. Erg vriendelijk personeel. Helemaal niet duur, prima zitplekken. Erg fijn om gewoon alles te kunnen kiezen zonder steeds te moeten checken wat vegan is.

Authentic, incredible vegan Indonesian food - Edit
One visit, but this is already my all-time favorite vegan place in the Netherlands: the food is delicious, authentic, home-made and served by an incredible friendly and lovely family. The mock meats are made in their own kitchen, and taste fantastic! We had the 'try something of everything', which is a combination of rice with 2 'meat' dishes and 4 vegetable dishes. The dish is served with vegan kroepoek and condiments as well. Few places can beat their price-quality! So, in summary, if you're fed up with boring, overpriced vegan burgers, I implore you to try this place - I guarantee that you will be very, very satisfied.

Vanuit omgeving Haarlem in Den Haag voor een dagje uit. Voor het hele gezin genoeg keuze. Onze ogen waren groter dan onze magen, dus de restjes mee naar huis. Alles is vers en smaakvol.

Read moreI ordered online and added a note with a request which they happily fulfilled. We followed the heating instructions and everything came out amazing. We had so many dishes to choose from and everything tasted delicious. Would recommend everyone to get something here to take home when they are near!
The one thing I'm disappointed in is that they are so close to being fully vegan. I get that spekkoek is super hard to veganise but there are enough other Indonesian desserts they might add on the menu that are easier served vegan.
Pros: Delicious food, good service
Cons: Amount of trash left after dinner, not suitable to eat in, so close to being fully vegan

Lovely Indonesian ricetable - Edit
This place is primarily for take away. There are only 2 tables with 4 chairs each, and they dont take reservations it seems (we had tried phoning and apping them several times in the morning to know whether they would be open and if we could reserve a place, but no answer, so just went at 3PM and hoped we could get a seat).

Everything is vegan except the Spekkoek (why not make it vegan? - I forgot to ask!).
Not so cosy setting, the counter fridge does make a lot of noise. But we did enjoy the food very much 👍
Some things quite spicy, but just at the edge of what we can manage 😁

I love this little toko that serves traditional Indonesian food but all plant-based. We had the rice table that includes vrious dishes that all tasted delicious to me. Friendly staff. Only a few seated tables available inside and few outside but most people seem to order to take away.

We had a lovely dinner, it's nice to be able to choose between different components. They had nice seating inside the restaurant. Only thing that bothered me was that the food was served on plastic plates! Not very environment-friendly!

We were a bit overwhelmed with the menu since it wasn't in English but we went ahead and asked the staff and they explained everything and made suggestions, which was very helpful! Some reviews rated the food as "expensive" but in comparison to the prices in the rest of the city, we thought it was absolutely justified. There were so many tasty-looking options to choose from and in the end we had trouble finishing the meal because it was a good amount. The people that own the place were really lovely too and we enjoyed a "healthy" take-out.

We had the rice table, which was okay, but certainly not the best Indonesian food I’ve ever had. It was mostly very spicy (which is fine), but everything tasted kinda the same. It was also quite pricey for the amount of food you got.
