Outstanding Vegan and Vegetarian food - Edit
I read a lot of reviews about this restaurant restaurant being quiet and understated and, while that is certainly true, the food is anything but.
Read moreI don’t know how many times we have walked or cycled past without even noticing it was there.
That won’t happen again.
They have a standard menu for a fixed price or a more expensive menu where you can pick and choose what you want. We opted for the standard menu.
They have a small but interesting selection of beers (Bryggia Amuse, Hommel Bier, Bryggia Tripel and Lindemans Gueuze) and a good range of organic wines.
You need to take into account that this is a dining experience, not somewhere you are going to rush in and out, plan on a nice relaxed 2 and half hours and all should be fine.
The food was outstanding.
Beautifully prepared, seasoned and served with love and care.
We had two amuse's, some crackers, followed by a profiterole filled with a tapenade of beetroot, which was the most excited I have been about beetroot in my life! Very enjoyable.
Next up was the starter, I had the puff pastry filled with asparagus, shitake mushrooms and chervil, my beloved opted for the tomato, courgette and gnocchetti salad. Both were gorgeous.
The Vegetable Tian served on a bed of polenta, that I had as a main course, was nothing short of amazing... and I normally don't like polenta! My beloved had the potato and spinach tart which was also fabulous.
Desert was a small freshly baked plum tart.
I can't wait to go back. If I could give this 5 stars I would as it possibly the nicest vegetarian or vegan food I have ever eaten in a restaurant.
