Delicious scandi lunch! - Edit
Such a lovely lunch at Daun’s today. Rickard, who runs the cafe, is so interesting and his passion for food comes across in everything from ingredients to presentation. We had the hotdog and a combination of salads, followed by a tahini and chocolate cookie and a peanut butter and raspberry brownie. The food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed and everything is well priced for the area. There is also a deli section with premium vegan/scandi condiments, cheeses etc. We will definitely go again!

The best place for a birthday meal! 👸🏼 - Edit
DAUNS hosted my 25th birthday dinner and it was WONDERFUL!
Read moreRickard was kind enough to host my birthday dinner on Saturday night and provided a set menu of all my favourites - toast skagen, meatballs and mash and blueberry crumble! He even presented dessert with a candle and sang happy birthday to me in Swedish.
The restaurant's beautiful, cosy interior made it absolutely perfect for a wholesome birthday evening and my friends adored the food.
I had so much fun and will treasure the memories forever. Thank you Rickard for making my day so special! 🥰👸🏼🌸

Amazing value, delicious food - Edit
Went here with my parents for breakfast during the week. We had the scrambled tofu and the almond croissant, both of which were delicious. I was amazed by how cheap the food was- I haven’t seen prices like this anywhere else in London. Our scrambled tofu cost £7, everything was homemade and it was a filling meal. The owner/chef was running the place by himself with expertise- he was taking orders, clearing tables, and cooking food all at the same time with a smile on his face! I would definitely come back here to try some other dishes. Love the selection of unusual vegan cheese on sale too.

So great! - Edit
We went for the Easter set menu and loved it! The food was a three course set menu for £26; all delicious but the cheesecake the real standout. There’s also a really good drinks selection including lots of alcohol-free, great service, friendly vibes and a big selection of vegan deli food to take home too. Will come again😄

Something different! - Edit
I love Daun's. It's awesome to be able to try a veganized version of the Scandinavian cuisine. Very unique and unlike other cafes. All of their food is very tasty. They use a lot of locally made vegan cheeses and meats. Their pastries are also to die for! Love their danishes and cinnamon buns!

Good meals! - Edit
Went for Sunday roast, but it wasn’t available - going forward, it may be a once-a-month thing. Instead, I had the meatballs meal (the smaller of two sizes), with traditional Swedish-style creamy gravy and lingonberries, plus tasty whipped potatoes and “meatballs” (made from soy and pea protein = gluten-free), a spoonful of sautéed onion and a few slices of pickle. Delicious meal. I brought home a good, chocolate-chip cookie. I really want to try one of the toasties, and the cinnamon buns look great. There’s also a Saturday brunch menu. Best to make a reservation.

Very Good if a tad forgetful! - Edit
I met up with an old friend at Dauns and was so engrossed in 'catching up' that I completely forgot to take any photos, so you'll have to take my word for the descriptions. First of let me say Dauns was super friendly and has an interesting if not extensive menu. The downside was that two of the things we ordered were forgotten (by different members of staff!!) and the supposedly 'large' meal was anything but (and that was the opinion of my weight watching friend not just greedy ol' moi!)
Read moreThe Swedish meatballs were good but the plate as a main meal lacked volume. The tofuish wasn't very fishy but it was tasty. It would seem the menu changes every now and then and thats good because the one we had was rather bread heavy. Having said all that we both enjoyed the meal had a good time and will return, if only to try their "hoovers"...if you don't know you should go there and find out!
Pros: All vegan scandi inspired menu., Friendly staff, Not too busy in the afternoon.
Cons: Some portions a bit small., Forgetful order taking!
