Cute Danish vegan cafe !! - Edit
We only stopped by for a quick snack and hot drinks (vegan pastrami l, brie & tomato croissant & a peach raspberry pastry) but everything was delicious and the staff were so lovely. If we are back in the area we definitely want to try the scandi open sandwiches. Highly recommend!

Culinary greatness - Edit
At first appearance we have a quaint, cafe with plenty of space between tables.
Read moreThe food, the most important factor, is of a very high standard, not one you would expect from such humble dwellings.
Specialising in Nordic cuisine, their first item on the menu is sublime. We also had the kimchi toastie which was light and not the slightest bit soggy as you would expect.
The staff (feels more like a family vibe) sat and chatted and rounded off our best brunch we have had in London.
Pros: Quality, Ambience , Friendliness

A vegan Swedish spot, absolute Heaven! - Edit
This is the best place I’ve eaten at in London, and there’s a ton of great food here so that says something. I have fond memories of visiting friends in Sweden and eating great veg food with them, and this brings me straight back to those times. The main dish flavours are so delicious, huge drink selection, and I’m slowly working my way through their tasty baked goods. The people working here are super friendly too! This is a can’t miss spot, definitely check it out.

Cute small cafe - Edit
The food was filling but not heavy - so many options - I had a great open sandwirch with some of fish that I would highly recommend. The elderflower kombucha is also wonderful.

Daun’s - Edit
Scandi style cafe opposite Unity Diner. Offering breakfasts, brunches, toasties, pastries and a good selection of drinks. They also had a chiller selling vegan products to takeaway, mainly vegan artisan cheeses. I had a croissant for a light breakfast, a bottled kombucha and an oat turmeric latte. The croissant for me was a bit dry and the latte lacking flavour, but otherwise I enjoyed my meal. Good place to stop for a light bite.

Fab scandi food with a chill vibe - Edit
I’ve been to Daun’s a few times for lunch or brunch. It’s a lovely chilled place with good music and many plants! The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is really excellent & feels really authentically Nordic. The meatballs are excellent, but so is everything else! Also recommend the coffee and the Hippy Fizz cocktail!

The best toastie i have ever eaten - Edit
Dauns is a must visit for brunch/lunch in London. The staff are really friendly (especially helpful when it came to allergies) and the atmosphere is buzzing. I had the tomato, basil and mozzarella toastie and it was the best toastie i have ever had. Will definitely be back to try more.

Top rated for a reason - Edit
I see that Daun's is listed on Happy Cow as top rated in East London, and I fully agree with that rating. The food is terrific, both savoury and sweet, and the owner is friendly. We'll be going back!

Can’t wait to try more - Edit
We had the smörrebröd (3 open faced sandwiches) and one of the daily specials, the broccoli tart. We both loved the broccoli tart. It had a light texture and great flavors. I liked the 2 sandwiches that came on rye bread. The one with seitan and crispy onion was my favorite and the pickled aubergine was also good. My partner did not like the rye bread. He also got a cinnamon roll but said it was a little dry. I’d love to come back and try more of their menu, maybe a seitan toastie. I recommend making a reservation for weekend brunch as they can get pretty busy.

Coffee on the go - Edit
Visited twice during my last visit to London and a few other times when in London and their flat wait is spot on! Never actually had any of their food apart from pastries and savory bits on the counter but everything always looks so good. Definitely a nice spot to grab a coffee and delish pastries.

I love everything about this place! - Edit
This is one of the best vegan restaurants I've been to so far. Everything on the menu sounded amazing and I wish we could have tried every single dish. I have to admit that I usually miss the taste of butter and cheese but in this deli, absolutely nothing was missing. Everything tasted very authentic (look, texture, taste). The owner was very cool and sweet and came to our table to chat a few times and though the food was there quite fast- considering that it is all prepared freshly- we stayed there for a long time because we liked it so much. Everything is like "soul-food" and very creative and savoury. I took a cinnamon bun home and didn't eat it until the next day (no idea how I managed to do that) but it was still delicious- Scandis just know best. I absolutely recommend this place!

Best breakfast I've ever had. The descriptions on the menu don't do the food justice, as everything is so unique and like nothing else. Dreamy, rich tastes and great selection. Attentive and friendly service, cozy and informal atmosphere. Highly recommended!
