pretty decent - Edit
Compared to the veg food options in Portugal even a decade ago, a place like this is a wonder. Given the options now available in Porto, it's pretty decent but nothing great. The spread is far smaller than at the Mouzinho da Silveira location (though correspondingly cheaper). It's also somewhat lacking in protein. Finally, it's a bit bland. So I wouldn't go out of the way to go here, but in the general area, it's a very good option.

Cons: limited range of food, somewhat limited nutritional breadth, some food a bit bland

Good experience - Edit
Nice open space. Food is all vegan, tasty and healthy. Lots of fresh veggies, legumes and salads. Probably ok.ish for raw vegans. Nice to see no mock meats. The day I went they offered 3 hot options, tofu, bean burgers and polenta. They didn't had more expensive options, like quinoa and avocado. Well priced. Buffet price does not include drinks and desserts, which you pay separately.

They have Nada pastries - Edit
We ate here a couple times during our Porto visit and came back each day to get a Nada. They were great. Good buffet offerings, lots of choice and the sandwiches are good too. Service was a bit slow

Good buffet - Edit
7.50 weekday lunches & 8.50 weekends. All you can eat vegan buffet. This restaurant chain apparently franchises so that explains the quality of service, food and the acceptance of credit cards (this location does not accept credit cards). It's located in the food court at the shopping center on the ground level. It's rather small compared to the one in the turistic center but there are tables available here without waiting. I liked the location in the touristic center better than this one, both for the food and the friendliness of the service.

Great Vegan Options - Edit
Da Terra offer a buffet style lunch with clear allergen labelling, with a long queue when we arrived, always a good sign, so we grabbed a tray, cutlery and napkin and joined the queue.
Read moreThe choice included roast vegetables, quiche, rice, seitan in a cream sauce, different salads, bread, olive tapenade and more, so we filled our plates. The food was scrumptious, so fresh and delicious and just the ticket on a hot sunny day. We could not resist ordering a slice of almond and chocolate tart each, which were huge so we shared one and took the other back to the ship (we were on a cruise). The tart was chocolate heaven, with a lovely creamy filling and the crunch of nuts, it was fantastic.
I loved Da Terra, we had a chat with the guy running the place, who was so friendly and helpful and as we will visiting Portugal again next year, Da Terra is definitely on the list to revisit. Highly recommended.
Pros: Vegan options, Vegan desserts

Good, affordable meal - Edit
I came for a late dinner and the restaurant was packed which was exciting to see. There were so many options to choose from and a lot of them were really good. I had a full plate, soup, and shared a dessert. The chocolate tart was so amazing! Definitely come hungry and ready to eat a lot, because you will likely want to try everything!

Please Teach Me - Edit
There are multiple DaTerra restaurants in Porto, but I've been to this one on the Bom Sucesso Market the most. You pay around 8 Euros and can serve yourself as many times as you want, with no limit; you can start at 12 and keep going until 18. And trust me, you would want to. They always have a large variety of entrances and main dishes. I have never gotten to dessert because I always wanna try a little bit of everything and by the time I'm done with that I am one round vegan. I've been cooking for a couple of years now and half the times I cannot tell what I'm eating here (even though they put these little signs with all the ingredients in front of every dish- i just like the surprise and mystery on my mouth, like tiny little experiences).
Read moreI've been to some very expensive vegan restaurants. DaTerra are the best. They make it better, for cheaper, and in a buffet form, which means you get to try a lot of different things.
It's not just me. Everybody loves DaTerra. It's usually full, so makes me think even non veggie people become regulars. It's in fact the type of place you would bring someone if you wanna make the green side look very VERY good.
DaTerra is an amazing dream of a restaurant. I wanna cry.

Amazing! - Edit
On my first afternoon in Porto, I was in the Tourist Ticket Point across the street where I found a map called Go Veg Porto! Showing many great veg/Cruelty free places to eat and shop in Porto, but then the woman working there said, “there’s also da Terra across the street”. I ate dinner there my first night and then ate there every other night, too. It was fresh, affordable, and just so good most nights. As some reviews online say, some nights a few dishes are not 5 star great, but compared to what I ate in the rest of the country, this was the best. Made me very sad to leave Porto. Staff were also friendly and the juices really good. Don’t miss this place!
