We stayed here because of the vegan menu - Edit
I suspect Killarney will become a vegan destination in the coming years. The Brehon is leading the way with dedicated vegan dinner menu and a strong vegan fried Full Irish breakfast.
Read moreThe dinner menu is very solid and we liked everything we had on both nights. A bit under-sauced (particularly the bhaji burger) and under-seasoned but that seems to be very common nowadays.
Probably not enough variation to eat there three nights in a row but very impressed overall.
Fried vegan breakfast was excellent and included beans, so we are of one mind! Sausages should be replaced with Denny as they are too dry. Possibly look into simple tofu scramble and kala namak for "eggs".
Offered several vegan bread options which was fantastic.
The only milk option was almond milk but I personally prefer oat. Big opportunity for Flahavans to offer mini cartons to hotels to avoid wastage.
Finally - small oversight - no vegan butter alternative for toast. Old school flora in the mini tubs would be fine.
Honestly if you're vegan and you are staying in Killarney, you'll love either The Brehon or The Europe. The latter is a "smidge" more expensive and their breakfast isn't as good.

vegan menu - Edit
We had a nice experience and couldn't expect more vegan options in this part of Ireland. Vegetarian/vegan menu available on request, just check the allergens list.
Read moreFriendly staff. Some ingredients are organic. We are far from the usual vegan junk food options, it's just real food.
We highly recommend a try!

Good options - Edit
There is a separate vegan menu but there was a lack of legumes or plant proteins on the menu overall. I had the curry which did have some nuts in it but some chickpeas or lentils would make it more balanced and filling. I had the chocolate brownie for dessert which was so delicious and was a huge portion. Would return, but will request some beans or lentils on dishes next time.

Good healthy food - Edit
I'm staying at Brehon Hotel and with my big surprise I've discovered (thanks to this app!) that the inner restaurant has a complete veg menu.
Read moreThere were several vegan disges and you can ask to veganize all the vegetarian options as well.
Everything was good and it was maybe the healthier dinner I've had here in Ireland so far.
Average prizes.
Pros: Several vegan options

A Nice Upscale Experience - Edit
We read that the Danu offered a vegan menu so we headed over to check it out. The hotel is one of the finer hotels in Killarney. The staff as the Danu were attentive and charming. The vegan menu had a decent amount of variety. The food was good and there is an extensive wine and bar menu. I would definitely go back again.
