My fave cuisine! - Edit
I love Damascena! If I could live on falafels and hummus for the rest of my life, I would. Everything vegan is clearly labelled and the food is delicious.

Amazing!!!! - Edit
An amazing selection of vegan and veggie options. Everything is always so delicious!!! The fuul dishes are to die for. Also, if you want a dessert, most of their cakes are vegan friendly!

Great place - Edit
A colleague took me here for lunch whilst I was at a meeting in Birmingham, as they knew I was vegan. This is a nice place with a coffee shop at the front and then more restaurant seating at the back. They have lots of vegan options here.
Read moreI tried the Falafel Platter which I chose to have with Baba Ghanuuj as a dip. Batata Hara which are fried potato cubes topped with a chilli mix sauce with a hint of paprika
The highlight were the Mushroom Kibbeh Makliya, which are bulgur wheat croquettes stuffed with a mushroom mix, chilli flakes, walnuts and a herb blend.
Great place for lunch, I will definitely go back if in the area.

Wow - Edit
I’m so glad we found this place on Happy Cow! Some of the best food we’ve eaten. The mixed meze was made vegan and still had options to choose from. We’re probably coming back tomorrow to order different things and try those too!

Gorgeous food, lovely surroundings - Edit
Had the appetiser mezze and the mixed mezze (had to ask for this one to be made vegan). Both were amazing! The raspberry ice tea was delicious. Fresh juices nice but a little small for the price. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the service was great.

Arabic coffee - Edit
Beautiful Arabian style restaurant, I had the strong arabic coffee, they sure know how to make a coffee taste gorgeous, it had floral notes, trust me it works! I have always been attracted to the Arabic culture, so it was lovely this little gem, I will be back to try the vegan options available at the restaurant soon

Appetizer Meze - Edit
Went for the appetizer meze and it was fab. The setting is very cultural and it's like been in mini Lebanon. Would be great for coffee too in the entrance although I sat in the restaurant which was further back. Definitely recommend for the dining experience and the food.

Thought you were tired of falafel? Think again! - Edit
LOVE Damescena. All vegan options are clearly marked and there's such a big selection from all parts of the menu. Fresh falafel and meze is unbeatable but they also have many other savoury meals plus several vegan cakes and even vegan baklava! They also have 3 or 4 different plant milks for hot drinks. Recommend to anyone in the city centre, there are other branches too, elsewhere in the city.

Awesome vegan food - Edit
I am a huge, huge fan of Damascena. Whenever I get into the city, I stop by even if for a small bowl of hummus and some flatbread. In no particular order, reasons why this place is amazing and you should visit:
Read more- There is a huge selection for vegans and even more for veggies. It's varied, tasty, filling and all reasonably priced.
- Best hummus in Birmingham. Just putting that out there...
- The variety and the quality mean you don't get bored with it. I've been enjoying the mixed mezze for a couple of years now and its so nice to have hits of several different flavours all on one plate. You can mix this up in a few different combinations too depending on your dietary preference.
- All of this extends to the drinks menu too. They have a good half a dozen ice tea flavours you can try and all of them are delicious.
If I had one criticism - very occasionally they've served me non vegan food. I'm still baffled a bit by needing to tell them I want vegan hummus (what do they put in?!) but when there has been a mix up, they're fast to correct.
Damascena is one of the best places for vegans in Birmingham so give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
Pros: Amazing food, Lots of vegan options, Good prices
