Exceptionally good food - Edit
This was one of the highest quality meals I’ve had in a long time. The Harvester was terrific- special consideration must be given to their blackened grilled lentil tempeh- fantastic. I very much enjoyed one of their shakes with a cheeky bit of CBD added in. They were also kind enough to let me sample their vegan cheese which was lovely too.

Fantastic find, Great Food and Nice People - Edit
Took a weekend trip up to Portland to visit friends and this was our pick for dinner.
Read moreWe picked it right! The couple running this place is working hard, preparing good food with a nice menu.
One warning: the Nacho plate was delicious but, it can't possibly be meant for one person. I mean, I can eat and I love to eat but, I needed help from others at the table and we still didn't finish it... Ha! this is my kind of problem.
Nice atmosphere but yet it's order at the counter style.
Also I would recommend the electrolyte drink. delicious.
Pros: Really nice flavors, Friendly owners, Great location

Brilliant - Edit
This is exactly the sort of vegan place I want. It's hard core 100% vegan and one of the few places in the US I can feel happy , proud and confident. I chose a shake and Mac & Cheese. Both were exceptional.. like truly out of the ball park. Meat eaters need to come here and discover the truth.

A good Try - Edit
We had the bowl of potatoes and jalapeño poppers. Vegan cheese isn’t my thing but this was still good. I chose the parts with less cheese while my husband ate the cheesier areas. The first jalapeño poppers that came out appeared to have a long hair coming off it that we only seen when snapping a photo. The place is so dark and we wouldn’t have seen it if I wasn’t taking photos. I informed the staff and the cook, possible owner, grabbed the bowl and put it under the hooded light and picked it up with his bare hands and said “look it’s the just the skin of the jalapeño, it’s not a hair” I responded that I couldn’t see what he was talking about super confused and thrown back by the way it was being handled. The man then asked his co-worker “do you see anything?” Looked at me and said “so we’re good do you still want them?” I kindly apologized and said no. Even said it’s okay you don’t have to take them off and he insisted on remaking them. Bottom line he made it right by remaking them. They were good but still left myself and husband feeling like customer service needs work. We had literally spent days in Portland reviewing all the vegan restaurants and I should’ve just showed him the photo but at that point I felt like it would’ve been more awkward.

Very filling ! - Edit
We tried the power bowls and they were tasty and very filling - lots of potatoes, more than we expected! We also got cheesy potatoes and my friend got the dude burger which had great caramelized onion. Portions are very large and the food is dense. Good for after strenuous exercise.

Best vegan food in Portland? Definitely a contender. - Edit
Y’all. I cannot even express how delightful their food is. The price point and portion sizes are incredible for what you get, and you can tell that Georgette and Dax take such great pride in their craft and being part of the community. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious and I love that everything is made mindfully and with health consciousness at the forefront. The flavors are out of this world and I never feel sluggish or guilty after absolutely gorging myself.
Read moreI’ve been 6 times so far and will continue to go every chance I get. I cannot say enough good things.
Pro tip: just get the beastly nachos. You know you want to and they will rock your world. Their birria tacos and jalapeño poppers are also absolutely insane.
Go eat at Daily Fuel. Have your mind blown. Repeat. #Veganuary
Pros: Health conscious, Freaking delicious, Good selection of food

Unique favors and choices - Edit
Beautiful interior, modern, artistic, urban. Check out the mural, wall paneling and fabulous chairs. Food is generous, flavorful and menu is varied and accommodates many needs, all vegan! Owners are friendly, dedicated and all around awesome. We had a lentil tempeh sandwich and the Dude Mac n’cheese which had vegetables too. The “cheeze” sauce just might be the best in town.

Get the nachos! - Edit
I haven't been here in a quite a while and am so pleased I went back. The prices haven't changed dramatically, which was a nice surprise, and we all left full. The nachos are so good-full of healthy, delicious food but not something so simple you could make at home. I've always loved the food here but struggled with some attitude from the owner. I'm pleased to say there was none of that and we had a pleasant experience. I'm definitely adding back to my rotation.

I recently went to Daily Fuel. I got to meet the owners who are a couple who run Daily Fuel together. They are both chefs. Upon one of the owner's recommendations I went with the Sweet Heat Bowl. It is only available Oct to March and is his favorite thing on the menu.

Too Saucy - Edit
We ordered online for takeout for Sunday lunch. They were available even ahead of time we order the mushroom mac & cheese, and a Match and greens milkshake.
Read moreThe vegan mac & cheese had a very good smoky barbecue flavor, but overall way too much sauce. The mushrooms are also a bit saucy. I wish they had them caramelized a bit more. I think it was over a little bit salty too. If these components were inside a sandwich, I think it would have worked well. The Matcha and green milkshake needed a bit more matcha flavor.
I do applaud them for using chickpea pasta and their mission to make comfort food healthy as well.

Definitely tastes healthier than comfortable - Edit
I'm kind of surprised this place has so many 5 star reviews because I was wildly disappointed both times I came here. Maybe I just have a lot higher standard for things labeled comfort food, but I could definitely tell these foods were designed to be healthy. I've been vegan for 10 years now and I'm very used to the taste of vegan cheeses and meat substitutes, but I found the flavor and seasoning balance of my dishes very off.
Read moreI got the buffalo mac n cheese and I strongly believe noodles should not be made of chickpeas. These noodles were very unpleasant to eat and I didn't even finish the dish which is very unusual for me. The cheese sauce, despite being a specialty, was not great in my opinion and tasted like a newbie vegan's nooch heavy attempt at cheese sauce or just a very old school vegan cheese approach.
I also agree with another reviewer here that my milkshake had an odd aftertaste. I've never had a bad non dairy milkshake until this place :/
I think the one pro is if you're very health conscious and are counting macros and such. The entrees definitely have a lot of protein. I have fitness goals and go to the gym regularly, but I still wouldn't pay to eat here again because there are much tastier places that are still fairly healthy.

Fresh Vegan Delights! - Edit
A great place on Belmont Street.
Read moreI really like this place because the Vegan food is really good quality and the folks who own and run the place are invested in you having a good experience.. I've eaten there several times.
Daily Fuel features everything from delicious smoothies to soups sandwiches and salads. I've tried one of all of these and they were all fresh, flavorful, interesting and delicious.
The chef/owner really makes an effort in creating his own sauces to make his generous creations unique and satisfying.
It's not a big place but you can still manage a group of 8 folks together. The music is ok .
The service is good, it's clean and simply stylish.
I feel freshly nourished after a meal there, not just stuffed.
I love supporting local restaurants cause it's not cheap or easy to run a restaurant in Portland. They deserve our acknowledgement.
Thank you Daily Fuel.

Pros: Tasty, fresh, vegan creations, Folks are helpful with suggestions , Clean, well lit

100% Vegan Restaurant! - Edit
My parents (omnivores) & I (vegan) visited Daily Fuel for lunch yesterday & were treated to generously portioned, health-conscious food, a clean, inviting, atmosphere, & some of the most genuine, enjoyable conversation with the owners (Dax & Georgette) that we've experienced anywhere. While Portland does have numerous vegan & vegan-friendly establishments (we're quite lucky in that respect), over the course of the ten or so years I've lived here we've lost a number of places that offered more whole-food, plant-based options (I'm thinking of Prasad, Canteen, Papa G's Deli, etc.) & less of the meat/cheese/etc. analogue type of meals simply designed to mimic the "traditional" American diet. Daily Fuel, thus, fills a tremendous void as it's the type of food that will fill you up without weighing you down, & the prices & portions, along with the way the food makes you feel, makes the whole idea of eating a vegan meal more sustainable for the majority in my opinion. We tried the Dirty Grilled Cheesy Corn ($7) with a side of chips ($3), The Power Bowl ($16), & the Island Buddha Bowl ($14). Each item featured an abundance of flavor, nothing tasted overly salty, oily, or heavy, & all three of us were quite full after lunch & I still took home a hefty to-go box that will make another meal or two for me. The food alone is enough to make us know we'll return, but the warmth & genuine conversation with the owners makes Daily Fuel stand above & beyond for me--thank you again, Dax & Georgette! You both, & your restaurant, are simply badass.
