This might be the best fine dining restaurant I've ever been to - Edit
This was definitely one of the best fine dining meals I've ever had. So much thought and detail went into each course and it was one of the most visually stunning meals too. I loved their use of local ingredients (some of which I had never had before) and they were amalgamated beautifully to create such unique dishes. The photos speak for themselves.
The meal is nearly $90 (before tip), which is obviously pricey, but when I think of fine dining in countries like the UK, US, or Australia, and what we received here, it was definitely worth it.
The restaurant is like a speakeasy, tucked away behind a bar of the same name. We were at the restaurant for nearly 4 hours! The service was always great and we had a wonderful young lady who explained in detail each dish and wine. This meal brought us a lot of joy. Not to be missed!

Food & Art experience - Edit
Curious table is located below regents hotel. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, with a separate bar area.
Read moreThe menu was extensive and creative, this specific one playing with local flavors and paying homage to the indigenous people. The overall experience was great. The alcohol/wine pairing could be substituted to non alcohol pairings, which were unique and enjoyable.
The food itself is playful and delicate. Some flavor combinations were better than others. The chef explained the goal of the entire experience is to stir up curiosity about the food but most importantly plant based foods. The fine dining environment is a great draw for those who are not plant based yet still want a pleasant culinary experience or for a special occasion. It was a memorable experience overall.

Creative and playful - Edit
Curious Table offers a creative and playful menu. The flavors are good, but not exceptional. The dishes are beautifully presented and invite you to interact with them in fun ways. However, the taste does not always match the visual appeal. I wish they had focused more on the flavor than the appearance of the food.
Read moreThe Taiwanese mountain mushroom wrapped in perilla leaf was my favorite dish. It had a savory and aromatic flavor, and the leaf gave it a nice texture. The ‘onion’ soup was the most stunning and inventive dish. It resembled a miniature pond with lotus flowers and leaves on the surface. However, the soup itself lacked flavor. One dish invites you to "paint" a cracker canvas with edible colors. As for the main dish, I did not enjoy the vegan pork fat imitation in the main course at all.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but it was rather quiet when we arrived for our early dinner slot at 17:30. Some more background music would have been nice to fill the silence. I would not rank this as one of my top restaurants, but it was a pleasant experience overall and I would not mind coming back.
A few things to note: you have to specify your dietary preference when you make a reservation. We booked through our hotel concierge and they did not pass on our request for a vegan menu, but luckily the restaurant was able to accommodate us on the spot. The actual vegan menu might be different from what we had.
Water (sparkling or still) is included in the price.
Reservations at short notice were hard to get. Apparently you have to book at least 3 days in advance to secure a table.
