Local fare - Edit
Decent food with a small menu, you'll be struck by the size of the portions. I'm sure there are pictures of the menu items somewhere at the place, but when I went I didn't see any, so I made a blind choice. Reasonably happy!

Tasty food for a good price - Edit
No complaints about the food! It was delicious. Four stars instead of five because they still put peanuts on one of the two dishes my partner and I were supposed to share after explicitly asking them for no peanuts/nuts (partner's allergic).

Local place, average taste - Edit
Very local spot with only vegan options on their menu. Portions are quite big but the taste is not the best.

Favorite place to eat in Penang - Edit
My girlfriend and I come here quite often. The food here is amazing and the portions are large. The workers are very friendly and welcoming as well. They have specials every day. Great place to eat if you're visiting Penang. You'll thank me later.

Might be underpriced - Edit
Food are tasty and large and cost low price. The only problem is that it doesn't have air conditioner room.

Good menu - Edit
Good, fun food. Fun because they have two special dishes for each day of the week (in addition to the permanent menu). Tried the mushroom rice one time (it was essentially a giant batter-fried mushroom steak served with white rice and a sweet sauce) - absolutely delicious. Although, I'm not sure if the sauce contained honey (my vegetarian friend had ordered it). Aside from honey and egg (the latter of which they always ask if you want omitted), the menu should be fully vegan (Malaysian Chinese cuisine very rarely uses dairy in savoury dishes, with the exception of curry mee and 'fish head' noodles. Honey is also very rare, but this was a special, non-traditional dish). Anyway, the other dishes I've had there were pretty decent too. Ask them if they have 'pumpkin barley', if you like dessert.

An okay spot - Edit
Affordable option with sufficient seating, but small portions and loads of soy sauce in all the noodles and rice. They will ask about egg which is nice.

Great value - Edit
Came here for lunch and had the vegetable stir fry (had to ask for no egg); it was a good portion and really filling. A bargain at RM5.

Awesome Authentic Chinese Malaysian Food - Edit
Love this place!!! If you want authentic Chinese Malaysian food then this is the spot. Delicious, good size portions and cheap. The Hokkien Mee was my favourite but the Fried Kwey Teow was delicious also. Just remember to ask for no egg to make it vegan.

Yummy, authentic, affordable - Edit
Everything here is super fresh, big portions, and tasty and most dishes are only between 5-7 MYR. They use lots of egg , so specify when ordering, staff speaks English and they understand.

All the Malaysian classics near Komtar - Edit
Stayed in this neighborhood for 2 weeks and it quickly became our go-to lunch & dinner spot. A simple but clean eatery, often packed w locals – tip: there’s more seating upstairs. Many delicious, big, steaming hot noodle soups to choose from (yay picture menu!), and special [rice] dishes each day of the week. Lowest prices around: only 5-6R for most things! Lovely, english-speaking staff. Various dishes are served w egg so specify if you don’t want. Mock meats = just like the ‘real’ thing. Also great fried rice & noodle for takeaway.
