Chic, delicious and ultra cool. - Edit
This is a very high end culinary experience. For us this is the best tasting vegan food around town. The weekend brunch is utterly delectable. Crossroads is a staple for us on Sundays, we like to make a morning of it with our kids and order the “salmon” Lox sandwich and the chocolate pancakes then head to the markets down the road. I’ve never tasted better pancakes in my life. They’re always very catering to our large family (we have 4 kids, often our excitable boys can get rowdy while we wait for the food to come!)
Read moreThe service is 5 star, the food comes out quickly, the location is fabulous and they offer valet which makes things easier. We recommend booking but they do sometimes take walk ins if it’s for brunch. Our fav lunch/dinner eats are; the kale salad, truffle potatoes, the artichoke oysters, fettuccini with truffles, tagliatelle bolognese and the Italian sausage pizza.
For most Crossroads should be treated as a “special occasion” spot as it’s very pricey. Its hard to practice conscious spending there because the food is just too delicious, the drinks menu brilliant and you can’t help but want to marinate in its goodness. It’s also an innately cool place with many fancy people having dined there but it’s not snobby or exclusive and I think for a restaurant that could be if they wanted to be, it is a testament to the inner workings of the restaurant.
If they took a leaf out of Moby’s book (yes the muso and owner of LA’s most charitable vegan joint Little Pine) and sent the proceeds to animal charities (or at least a portion of them) this would be my number one favourite restaurant globally.
Pros: Best tasting vegan food IMO , Very cool vibe , Valet!
Cons: Pricey AF

Delicious food, small portions for a high price - Edit
The food was great! Very small portions for the price, as with most upscale vegan restaurants. For example for $14 “chicken” and waffles you get a half a waffle and 2 small pieces of chicken. And a very small (6oz?) matcha latte for $8

Must visit when in LA! - Edit
Oh man, too much to say about this place, but this is my favorite restaurant! Honestly, everything is good and you can't really go wrong, but here are my favorites:
Read moreWeekend Brunch:
My favorite things are the Impossible Breakfast Sausage Sandwich, Jann's Bagel, the Caesar Salad with the Crispy Milanese, Chicken and Waffles, Pancakes, Meatball Sub, the Crispy Milanese sandwich, and the Meatball Skillet. Note that the Impossible Breakfast Sausage Sandwich is only served on the Weekend Brunch menu. It is such a unique and super popular item. They use the Impossible Foods burger for the sausage, JUST Egg, a really good English muffin, and some vegan cheese.
Weekday Lunch:
A lot of the menu items on the Weekend Brunch menu are also on the Weekday Lunch menu. They have 2 Impossible Burgers and both are so delicious! They have a BBQ one and an In-n-Out double-double style one. Note that these are only served on the Weekday Lunch menu.
Dinner:
The dinner menu is very unique. My wife and I love ordering the Impossible Cigars, the Artichoke Oysters, the Seafood Tower (when it is in season), any of the pastas, the lasagna, and the Milanese (Chicken Parm). On Sunday nights, they have a special menu called Scotty's Sunday Night Dinner which is a really good deal. Again, you can't really go wrong. All of the food is very creative, unique, and delicious.
Late Night Bar Menu:
They have a late night menu every day I believe after 10pm if you're up for a late night snack. This menu has similar items as the menus mentioned above. Our favorites are the Impossible Sliders, Buffalo Maitake Mushrooms, and Meatball Pizza.
I was reading through some of the other comments and many people complain that this place is too pricey. Yes it can be a bit pricey, especially at dinner, but the food is truly unique, creative, and delicious! I can't say that enough. This is also an upscale restaurant on Melrose, so what can you expect? Every other restaurant on Melrose is expensive. If price is a concern, come for the Weekday Lunch or Weekend Brunch, as those times aren't as pricey and they are more casual.
Each of these menus offer something unique, so I highly recommend trying all three. And if you're visiting LA, you have pretty good chances of seeing a celebrity there.
Pros: Amazing food, Unique experience
Cons: Pricey, Book a reservation

NAILED IT! Fettuccini Alfredo, side of sausage - both AMAZING. Watermelon and veg salad, cornbread with ice cream, and accidentally a banana something I was given by accident. There was no way I was sending it back - banana cream pie maybe- outstanding departure from the vegan fast food crap popping up everywhere

Wow - Edit
Nice restaurant with an upscale setting. Most of the menu is made of "mock" food, either crab cakes, burger, scallops, escalope, etc. We had the oysters (great!), the escalope parmesan (troubling), the carbonara pastas (delicious) and the banana pie (yummy), along with good wine glasses. Service was excellent as well. A must go in LA!

Very nice experience - Edit
We went to the restaurant to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and had a blast. The evening started with complementary champagne which was a very nice touch. The menu is a "small plates" menu, so you order 5-6 dishes as a couple. Most dishes were excellent, we especially enjoyed the fettuccine Alfredo and "meat" cigars. However we really did not enjoy the lasagna, which was disappointing as each dish is quite expensive. We had the banana pie and tiramisu for dessert, the banana pie was really excellent. Service was fantastic (beyond fantastic, really).

Classy Vegan Dining? Yes Please! - Edit
When it came time to celebrate my babygirl's birthday in Disneyland, I Yelped to see what was the nicest Vegan restaurant in that area. Since there's nearly nothing, I set my sights a little further out. It was originally going to be Madeleine Bistro (now closed) but the long drive to Tarzana discouraged me a bit. When I kept seeing reviews pop up for Crossroads by all the Vegan LA Yelpers (back when Yelp was cool) I figured this must be the new hotness.
Read moreWe arrived slightly early for our reservation in an attempt to beat the notorious LA traffic. While checking out the neighborhood, a gigantic tour bus pulled up and we spotted a Rolls Royce out front in the valet area. I began to think either we would be under dressed, or this place may be too rich for my blood. It's definitely THE place to be in the neighborhood as it was packed and quite loud when we walked in. I don't think I've seen so many people in a Vegan restaurant before. Even the all black bathroom was pretty slick. Seems like a place rockstars would come to OD...
All three of the hostesses greeted us warmly and quickly seated us. Although it wasn't the side by side seating I had requested, we made due with what we had. Our server was equally friendly and helpful. When we responded with an excited "yes" to her question of it being our first visit, she explained the tapas theme and also recommended a few dishes to start.
Her recommendations ended up being two of our favorites. The Leek Soup and the Leek Flatbread. The soup was my favorite thing I tasted all night. The fried capers added a delicious salty touch to an already tasty soup. The flatbread was cooked perfectly with the texture of freshly baked bread rather than resembling a thin crust pizza as I have had elsewhere. We may as well have let her recommend our entire meal at this point because both of those were excellent!
My choice was the Biscuits & Gravy since I normally order this anywhere that offers it. I was excited to try an upscale version. At $14 for two good sized biscuits, it was reasonably priced considering the locale. There was a taste in either the biscuit or the mushrooms that was off-putting at first, but actually grew on us after a few bites. I would probably order this again but I still prefer the white trashy version smothered in TONS of gravy, a bit more.
When the waiter brought out our final small plate, Tortellini, he also had in his hand a plate of the Spiced Garbanzo Beans which he said were "compliments of the chef". Since Tal Ronnen was in the house, I like to believe it was from him personally. After tasting it, I'm thinking he would choose to showcase something that is better tasting than this. It wasn't terrible but there wasn't much going on with it. Just garbanzos & a spicy tomato based sauce.
Sadly, they were out of the "Kite Hill Cheese Plate" so I didn't get the chance to try it. If the buzz is any indicator, it's a MUST order if you they happen to have it available when you dine here.
My sweetie and I were debating the Panna Cotta or the Chocolate Bunt Cake to go with the Ice Cream for dessert. When we tasted the panna cotta, there should have never been a debate in the first place. That stuff was amazing melt in your mouth, creamy sweetness! While they were out of the Carrot Cake Ice Cream as offered on the menu, the substituted Espresso Ice Cream was a great replacement. I don't think I've ever had a Vegan version of this and it's always been one of my favorite flavors pre-Vegan (PV)... This was as rich and decadent as the non-Vegan versions I remember.
I hope the meal & experience were everything for the birthday girl that I hoped it would be. If we lived in the area, I'm sure we would be repeat customers as the prices weren't so bad considering the location, excellent quality food, name brand chef recognition, etc. I can deal with spending $50 pre-tip for a small yet fancy feast while rubbing elbows with all the pretty people of LA.
Pros: Fancy Vegan food is hard to find.
Cons: Pricey but you expect it to be.

I enjoyed the lunch there. I feel it is kind of a great spot to bring carnivores friends and offer them an experience that will not push them too much outside of their comfort zone. Loved the crab. Globally a nice spot and interesting menu.

The food is really good but a little pricey for what you get. We still enjoyed our dining experience and the food was beautifully presented. Not my favorite in LA since there are soooo many to choose from but definitely worth a visit. They dont make their own homemade cheeses like so many places do, they use the brand Kite Hill almond cheeses. Nice date night for sure. Took my non vegan friends and they loved it!

Crossroads is incredibly overpriced, the plates are so small, you have to order at least four to five dishes to not leave hungry, the servers are rude and it's so crowded, you basically need to sit on your table neighbor's lab. Go to Flore Vegan or Little Pine instead!
