A delightful welcome awaits - Edit
We headed along here most purposefully, with vegan option lunches being our focus. We were not disappointed. We oohed and aahed our way through generous starter portions of Frickles. For the uninitiated, these are pickled cucumber spears, dipped in beer batter and fried to perfection accompanied by garlic mayo. We then felt virtuous by ordering the Greek salad (with added vegan breaded chicken) and a French salad. To be fair, the addition of the vegan breaded chicken was unnecessary and both salads were sufficiently tasty to hold their own against any other main. There is outdoor seating; the frontage is taken up by picnic tables but there is also a cheeky back garden which, on the only day of summer we may get in 2024, was barely occupied. So, with space to enjoy decent pub food, outdoors and in the sun, we unsurprisingly had a lovely experience, served up by personable staff. Thank you, Cow & Oak.

Great Vegan Sunday Roast - Edit
We had heard good things about this place and finally managed to visit for Sunday lunch. It was excellent and we had the Nut Roast and the Vbab sham lamb followed by fruit crumble and ice cream.

Incredible Sunday roast! - Edit
Visited a couple of weeks ago for a roast and it was sooo good! Vegan yorkies, vegan cauli cheese and 2 different main options to choose from (fake lamb or nut roast).

They don't understand what vegan is - Edit
They kept asking us if our choices were full vegan or if we can eat dairy. Then served us non vegan crackers with our vegan cheese board. It made me mistrust everything we had previously eaten. I don't feel confident in what we were served. And won't risk going back. They also tried to over charge us at the end. Kind of a weird experience to be honest.

🌯 - Edit
Pretty average food, they had decent options/portion sizes. Not somewhere I would go with high expectations but it’s good food that fills a hole.
