Excellent Vegetarian Fare - Edit
Their menu is mostly vegetarian, and all meatless. A lot of items use bread but can be made gluten free and there are a couple Mexican options with corn tortillas instead of bread. Both chilaquiles and tacos.
Read moreI had the breakfast tacos, being ‘Chegan’ I don’t mind occasional eggs and they were delicious - simple with lots of arugula and good salsa. Very friendly vibe and great location near downtown LA.
Pros: Location, Vibe, Price
Cons: Lots of bread dishes, Not a lot of vegan options

Very limited vegan options - Edit
Almost all food options have egg or dairy, and the vegan option just means not including these, when available. In most cases, you will definitely miss a feta or egg substitute... Other than that, chill atmosphere and friendly staff.

meh - Edit
vibe is nice, but the food tastes like vegetarian food made by omnivores. I had the veggie sandwich and was pretty disappointed. Maybe other items are better.

Busy veg cafe in South Park - Edit
This spot is in a great location in DTLA. If you don’t know, DTLA has TONS of excellent vegan restaurants but the up and coming South Park neighborhood (south of Olympic) is still expanding and I think that’s why Cow is SO packed! The customers are diverse and colorful and lovely. Today the AC is def not keeping up with the California June heat. And July-Oct gets considerably hotter in LA so I hope an AC or ventilation solution comes soon:-) this is a vegetarian cafe that serves a lot of egg dishes and works cheese in to many items. Everything is made fresh so I presume it would be easy for vegans to request a different dressing or hold the cheese, but the egg dishes aren’t vegan-izable. Naturally vegan menu items include: veggie sandwich, avo wrap, Cow toast, garbanzo bean salad, lentil soup and no desserts on menu but vegan muffin in display case. They serve bagels and coffee drinks here too. Real flatware and cutlery (not plastic or compostable plastic) - THANK YOU! The garbanzo bean salad was a nice lunch!
