Tasty veggie food! - Edit
Make your own plate and pay by weight :)
Read moreThere were a lot of choices and rice is at the back desperate to the trays of food. There's also free soup (hot savoury and cold sweet) We accidentally tried the stinky tofu, and didn't like it so be careful if you're not a fan either 😅
Sadly it was disposable trays for food instead of reusable plates.

Great buffet - Edit
Really flavorful buffet and a good chance to try a number of different dishes as it is self serve and pay by weight. Dishes containing egg are put together and labelled.

Another solid vegetarian buffet in Taipei - Edit
We came to this buffet twice as it was really near our hostel. There's a really good selection of food, with a wide variety of tofu dishes and some egg dishes too, alongside the standard vegetables and mushrooms. Rice is ordered separately at the counter.
Read moreIt costs 28 dollars per 100g and we paid about 280 dollars for two people for dinner.
It closed at 8 the night we came, but if you came here even a couple of minutes before that you could easily grab a takeaway box.
Pros: Really good variety of food

Budget Buffet - Edit
Thought I'd give this a try as it wasn't a far walk from my hotel. The place is easy enough to find & seems popular but not speaking Chinese it's a little difficult to navigate. You choose either a cardboard tray or take away container, and choose from the buffet then they weigh it and charge you. Maybe I was underwhelmed because I live in Shanghai where the vegan buffets are huge and you pay a set amount on arrival then eat all you want. So the selection wasn't massive and didn't taste that fresh even though this was around 7.30pm. If you're on a budget and want something quick and cheap then I guess this is what you might need.

Must visit for NTNU students - Edit
Cheap, delicious, convenient. 80-110NTD per meal. Rice is extra, choose between white rice and five grain rice. just 8 minutes walk from either Guting, NTNU, or Dongmen. Two soups to fill up on for free, one sweet and one savoury. A few dishes (scrambled eggs, egg-tofu) are vegetarian only, the rest is vegan.
Read moreBowls and chopstick are steam cleaned and provided for reuse, so make sure you use those instead of the throw away ones. Bring your own bowl if you don't want to use the one use paper plates.

good and cheap - Edit
I'm glad these are everywhere. This one has lots of seating so even when it's packed at lunch you can still find a spot.
Read moresome of the dishes seem a bit greasy but for the price and convenience and assurance of no meat I keep coming back.
