Delicious full English

We came here for a full English after discovering that Wetherspoon’s didn’t offer a vegan one (they do in London, but it's only vegetarian here). The décor was really nice and felt more upmarket (even though the prices were still reasonable), and the staff were friendly and attentive. We went for the Vegan breakfast, which was essentially a full English, with Moving Mountains sausages, This Isn’t Bacon, tofu, tomato, mushroom, spinach, smashed avocado & sourdough toast. It was really tasty! I was particularly impressed with the ‘This Isn’t Bacon’, which was cooked really well. I’ve tried cooking it at home and never managed to get the texture right, so it was really cool to eat it cooked so well, and it made me realise just how good it can be when cooked right. I was also really pleased that it came with the avocado and toast, as that was also delicious and not necessarily a normal part of a full English. I was also eyeing up the yoghurt bowl on the menu, which I reckon would’ve been really tasty, but I was just too hungover to manage that too! The vegan breakfast was £9.95, which I felt was very reasonable for what it was, and even though there was a service charge, the waiter actually asked me when I was paying if I wanted to pay the ‘subtotal’ or add the optional service charge. It may only seem like a small thing, but I really appreciated that, as it made the service charge feel properly optional, rather than something that’s just added and is technically optional, but requires you to actively ask for it to be removed. Even though I did happily pay it anyway, I appreciated being asked, it felt much more transparent and honest.

Pros: Tasty vegan breakfast, Fair prices, Friendly staff
