An Absolute Delight!

Firstly the host was so gracious, he was friendly, chatty, and informative. The side dishes were really lovely and the two person sharing dish was a bargain. The flavours of the food were complex and presented so nicely. The restaurant looks amazing from the moment you step in. A must-visit. Please open a restaurant in Manchester!

Pros: Really great decor, Brilliant host, Amazing food

The owner makes you feel so welcome it's such a pleasure visiting.

His passion for traditional Abyssinian food clearly comes across. The food is beautifully presented and tastes wonderful. Flavours are so good and there are some interesting textures too.

The selection of dishes were fantastic and everything vegan
As we recieved our dishes the food was explained to us .... I had a chickpea dish and to be honest it was like a taste explosion some wonderful flavours complimented with some lovely breads

Fantastic food and perfect service

My husband and I ate here last night, and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The service was impeccable- the owner/chef’s husband was an absolute gentleman and was incredibly hospitable, even taking our baby off for a cuddle so my husband and I could eat with both hands. The food was out of this world. I’d never eaten Ethiopian before but I am not definitely a convert! We had the combination meal for two, which was a beautifully presented sharing platter with lots of different dishes. Every one of them was lovely. We also had some homous and fried flatbread, both of which were delicious too. We are both gluten free as well as vegan, and could have had 95% of the menu... in fact,’I’m sure we will be back to make our way through it!
We live an hour away and it’s well worth the journey. We can’t wait to come again - but you might want to book ahead, as they were fully booked last night and were having to turn people away.

Amazing food and hosts

Visited with a friend who is also coeliac and there was so much choice for both of us - only 1 or 2 options not suitable for vegans (but all Veggie) or ceoliacs. Owners amazingly friendly.

Pros: Lots of vegan options. , Great value.

Amazing!

The interior was made of beautifully crafted Ethiopian fabrics and basketwork. The food was delightful and a new experience for me. I've been telling my friends about it for weeks. The family who own it were gracious and kind. I'll certainly be going again with friends in tow.

Pros: Mostly vegan but not all, Mainly gluten free, Hospitality was more than I could have wished for

Amazing, tasty, healthy, great atmosphere

I loved the food, which says a lot! It felt home made. Tasty and healthy, I felt satisfied without feeling heavy, and it was easy to digest, which I can't say for most tasty food out in restaurants. I am not gluten free, but I appreciate a break from gluten too, especially when it's so tasty! The injera is amazing. My friend who I went with was equally enthusiastic, and I brought some home to my boyfriend who also loved it. We also loved the space, the music and the food presentation (although we forgot to take a photo of our main before tacking in), and the owners seemed lovely.

Well worth a visit to Wakefield! We combined with a visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park, they are also very close to the Hepworth gallery. We'll be going back!

Pros: Tastes amazing, All vegan, Gluten free and healthy/easy to digest

Cons: Not super expensive but not Wakefield prices eithe

My new favourite place.

What a fantastic little place.
I and my fellow vegan buddy were treated a warm welcome and some great food.
The combination platter that basically give you a taste of most dishes.
Smashing down the gluten free teft pancakes wrapped around some delicious stews was a taste sensation and the coffee with a hint of ginger (and popcorn)was amazing.
Will be coming again and again.

Pros: fully vegan options.

Cons: not cheap.

Vegan food at its best

We were blown away when we visited this newly opened restaurant, hidden away down a side street in the centre of Wakefield. It is only a small place with a few tables, but so welcoming and cosy inside, with a clean and sleek yet lovingly decorated interior. We noticed there was a ramp available if needed for wheelchair access, and the toilet is accessible too. It's a family run business, and the staff were so lovely and friendly, chatting away with customers and giving out (delicious) complimentary nibbles. They promote themselves as a vegetarian/vegan business, and when we asked they confirmed that all food is suitable for vegans. The menu is separated into main dishes made from pulses, main dishes made from vegetables, combination dishes and sides. There's plenty to choose from, so we had a big combination dish to share, to sample different dishes. No cutlery is used, it's all served up on injera with various additional breads so you can eat with your hands. And the quality of the food is just WOW. Surely vegan food at its very best: amazing, delicate flavours, all in a beautiful combination. This is definitely up there with the best food we've eaten - highly recommended!

Fabulous food, fabulous coffee, fabulous welcome

By chance we happened to walk past Corarima just before they opened for their second day of trading and the owner came out to explain a little bit about the restaurant and the food & coffee they served. A few hours later, when we were ready to eat, we returned to the restaurant and spotted a family tucking into the "Combination Dish", right away we knew that's what we would like too. We did have a look at the menu which was jam packed with vegetarian and vegan options (there is a very short meat & fish menu 4 options) We were grateful that we did not have to make the selection for the Combination meal as the choices on offer were all very tempting so deciding on just 6 would have been very difficult. The staff made us feel extremely welcome and explained the different types of dishes in the beautifully presented Combination meal, which was served with Injera - Abyssinian pancakes/crepes which double up as cutlery and are very, very tasty. After the meal we had Abyssinian coffee, served with popcorn which was very refreshing and unlike any other coffee we have tasted. At the end of the meal we thanked the owner and his family for the wonderful food and their great service, and he informed us that everything was cooked fresh by his wife using as many organic ingredients as possible, which made it extra special. The people of Wakefield and the surrounding area should count themselves lucky to have such a wonderful restaurant, and when we are in the area again we will make sure we pop in.

Pros: Great range of Veggie and Vegan Food, Very friendly staff, Family run

Cons: Too many wonder options to choose from
