Great Cuban Food

Super flavorful Cuban cuisine. COPA also has a great bar area for a casual drink.

Pros: Flavorful

Multiple vegan options

This place is great. Multiple vegan options labeled with VV. Not nearly as many vegan options as non-vegan options, but there are definitely multiple opinions. It is a tapas place, so you’ll need to order multiple dishes.

Pros: Multiple vegan options

Tasty vegan options

We enjoyed the same dishes described by Turtleveg, and also a delicious salad of fresh tomatoes. We spoke with the chef who said most of their vegetables are sourced from a nearby farm. There were vegan options on the menu for all courses except dessert so we suggested that something be included there too.

simple but delicious

We enjoy going to COPA - the atmosphere is great, the menu has a few delicious vegan options (labeled VV), and they have a nice drink selection.
Our favorite menu items include Vegetales y casabe (roasted seasonal veggies served over cassava flatbread) and Frijoles a la isleña (Black beans, taro, avocado, and tomato over Cuban-style cornmeal grits made from NC stone ground yellow corn) . The menu also includes other yummy vegan options including Pan con aguacate (avocado toast!), maduros (roasted sweet plantains), Arroz congris y aguacate (rice, beans, avo), and Harina con sofrito (Cuban-style cornmeal grits with tomato sofrito).
